I agree I haven't seen the original ova of Plan To Destroy The Super Saiya-jins but remastering it sure does make it just as good as Dragonball Z Kai's graphics.
They didn't remastered it, they completely reanimated it.

He's talking about the first PtDtS. The one that first appeared on VHS as an OVA.

Why were they worried about Frieza and the rest coming back at all? I mean they didn't know Frieza somehow got the ability to take them on. He's basically what Raditz was to Frieza.

What the hell was up with that scene of Cooler closing in on Freeza while saying his name seductively?

It's obviously incest.

Finally watched it. The Special wasn't half bad actually. On the contrary, I found myself enjoying it far more that I thought I would. The animation was solid, the music was epic and the action was awesome. None the less, it was 30 minutes of new footage basically, so... WIN. I have to sit and rewatch the old version as well, I feel nostalgic all of the sudden.

I actually preferred the old one, hopefully it get's released in the future but I seriously doubt it. We will probably get a dub release of the new version.
I wanted a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

Yeah I preferred the old one too. But I highly doubt they would release that one and dub it. But in the original one the way the defeat the Ghost Warriors is just totally random. Like they find out that their Ghost Warriors and all of a sudden the same attacks that didn't work just a second ago are killing them. Like wth?

I just watched it a couple of days ago and I have to say, I still prefer the original. To me, for this remake, the plot felt too rushed, Part 1 only lasted around 10 minutes in this when it was half an hour in the original and how they only fully showed one of the Destron Gas machines rather than five. The animation was great at times but I've never really been a fan of the new animation (especially the plastic looking hair they do now).

I did love the score though, probably the closest its ever been to Kikuchi's score, favourite bit being the closing credit themes. But in some way, the original still stands as my favourite, especially the pieces that played during Freeza's, Coola's, Slugg's and Tullece's appearance and the Hatchiyack appearance.

But overall, it was a great remake, though I wish it could of been longer.
