Re: Translation
The text says he can withstand attacks from him, but as Herms said, it doesn't mean Gohan wasn't necessarily a Super Saiyan 2 in the movie.Lucas Abner wrote:Gohan was super saiyajin against Broly or not?

Re: Translation
Yeah but SSJ1 Gohan wasn't the one actually attacking Broly's body. He only appeared in the Omega Blaster beam struggle. But based on this new evidence, it clearly shows it was only SSJ1 Gohan doing the attacking.

Yeah, but the sketch shows two pretty distinct forms, in my opinion. The one with two bangs and the one with only one. But maybe that's just me. I don't know. Lol.Herms wrote:It occurs to me that just because it says that Broli can withstand "Super Saiyan Gohan's attacks", it doesn't mean that Gohan is never Super Saiyan 2 at any point in the movie. Of course, it also occurs to me that just because two unlabeled pictures of Gohan look different, it does not necessarily mean that they are intended to represent two different Super Saiyan forms.

Re: Translation
there is more proof that a SSJ than that one SSJ2;
in the first half;

Others;

He is a normal SSJ,combines with the text of Daizenshuu.

Re: Translation
Why do people care whether or not Gohan was a Super Saiyan 2 in movie 10? It's a pretty trivial thing. Plus, the movies are inconsistent anyway.

Only because it's a completely empirical measure to peg Broly's strength.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:Why do people care whether or not Gohan was a Super Saiyan 2 in movie 10?
Re: Translation
I've noticed when they don't specify it with a number, the term "Super Saiyan" is used to generalize and is not mutually exclusive.
In Daizenshuu Two's "Adventure History", Volume 37 describes Yamu and Spopovich as stealing energy from a "Super Saiyan Gohan". So it does not necessarily have to indicate a particular form of Super Saiyan. We as fans just always try and particularize everything with our own labels, even if the manga or databooks may not exactly treat it the same way.

Re: Translation
Kind of unnecessary to post the same group of pictures twice in the same thread, just "saiyan".
With the inconsistency of the movies (and the power of Broly in general), I don't think there is a real official answer as to whether Gohan was SSJ2 or not. I mean, it'd make sense for him to use it if he couldn't beat Broly in SSJ, but since the movies don't fit into the story anyway, perhaps the movie takes place in an alternate reality? Maybe Cell was defeated by some other means and Gohan never reached SSJ2 in that universe.

Re: Translation
Well, if Broli could completely godstomp a Super Saiyan 2, it would make him maybe twice as strong, or more, ya know?

That was from Gohan vs Kibito and Gohan only went Super Saiyan 2 in that "battle."
