I planned on watching the ones that fit into my fanon. I already watched Bardock: The Father of Goku before I began Dragon Ball Season One.Gogeta 00 wrote:Are there any plans to fit in the movies and TV specials?

I think you mean Blue Water dub.linkdude20002001 wrote:Well, I also decided to watch the Westwood Dub. Sadly I can only find the first six episodes. I'd say it's about as good as the 2001 FUNi dub; no better, no worse. A couple interesting things to note: Gokuh isn't allowed to pat-pat the village girl ("Pokawatha") on Canadian TV, but he can pat-pat the old lady...And Gokuh's Nyoi-boh is actually called the Nyoi-boh!

VOICES
The acting is generally quite poor.
Great: Narrator (his voice sounds like it belongs narrating Dragon Ball), Shuh (fits the characters and doesn't have an annoying quality to it), Seaturtle (I really like this voice for him; fitting and doesn't make him sound stupid), Oolong (fits the characters and doesn't have an annoying "pig"-like sound to it).
Awful: None!
Acceptable: Gokuh (poor acting, a lot like Nadolny's, but more frequently grating), Bulma (acting is as bad as Vollmer's at first, but it seems to improve slightly. At least it's not annoying sounding in any way), Pilaf (similar to Huber's, but not as good), Mai (too gentle sounding, and generic), the Turtle Hermit (boring, generic old man voice), Yamcha (not "cool" enough to make a truly good Yamcha. Sometimes reminds me of Hiei from YuYu Hakusho...), Pu-ehr (not high-pitched enough).
STORY
The script is just as bad as FUNi's. Basically they just used FUNi's old script, and FUNi's new script, and tweaked them. Although they sometimes got some things right that FUNi got wrong, they also got things wrong that FUNi got right. 90% Dragon Ball.
I liked the line after the Turtle Hermit pushes Pilaf, Shuh, and Mai out to sea. The Turtle Hermit says "Goodbye! Enjoy the bottom of the sea!", and Pilaf replies with a "Thank you~!" as their ship floats away.
Here's something stupid from the script: apparently Gokuh ate Bulma's hand lotion...![]()

Well, Blue Water Studios was where it was recorded at, but it's a Westwood Media dub (albeit heavily based off FUNi's dubs).

Well, I can tell you as a certainty that the Blue Water GT dub was not based on the FUNi dub in any way... because it predates it by a few years. But Blue Water DB was done a few years after FUNi DB, so I guess it's possible that they might have copied some things. What little I did see of the post-first-13 episodes though makes me believe that other than those few episodes, they did everything themselves.

That's what RazorX tells me. I'll try to watch every episode in as many versions as possible (Japanese and English only). Maybe I'll even read Viz's translation.

If anyone wants to fit the movies in according to the Japanese premiere dates, Movie 1 would go right after episode 43.Gogeta 00 wrote:Are there any plans to fit in the movies and TV specials?

I don't mean to bring back an old thread but I just have to know if anyone else is still doing this challenge?

Soppa Saiyjins from Dorgou Ballru Zetto is my favorite transformation everah, especially when Trounksoru did it in front of Seru and when Bejita did it when he faced Jingonigen-hachigo. But for real, I use the FUNi pronunciation. - Soppa Saia People

I've fallen grossly behind. I just don't have much free time between work and school.
