His Change Now! scene was by far, the best. Somehow, he caught the mood of the scene, Elliot did well but to me, not as well.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

I don't know if this is the right site named but I remember ukdb.net did this really funny sketch with Dale Kelly as a space alien and.... well, I don't quite remember it but I know it was really funny, I miss Duncan's old clips.

So close and so far away.... I'd almost kill to hear that clip again, it was so funny!

Yes, why did the English version had too many alterations with the names? Like Frieza instead of Freezer and Tien instead of Ten?
Bardo117 wrote:Why do you never include the Spanish dub in any of your releases?(Not including the Ultimate Uncut and Movie 5)
You mean the mexican one, the south american one or the one from Spain?

Well I really didn't had any questions as I am from Mexico, but guess I do have them. I might place more as time passes by and come to me.

Why was the music score from DBZ changed for music by Bruce Falcouner?
How much power do (or did) Funimation has over dubs in Mexico?
Was DB present in Mexico because it was first shown in the US, but under Mexico had its own "way of showing"?

It's actually supposed to be Freeza, not Freezer. And it's Tenshinhan, not Ten (though Chiaotzu calls him Ten).

I would ask how they managed to get DragonBall episodes 1 - 13 and the first movie from Tri-Mark\Kid-Mark. Even though it was only a sub license, it seemed tangled in mysterious technicalities for years.

I've added all of these recent questions to the list. Thanks everyone.

I am creating the final list of questions now and will then send it to them. If there is anything else you'd like to ask, then there's not much time left. Thanks again.

Why was Maggie O’Hara (DB Movie 1 - 1994) replaced by Lalainia Lindbjerg (DB TV Series - 1995) as the voice of Bulma?

Did the first Dragon Ball movie air on TV before they started dubbing the TV series in 1995?

Did FUNimation translate the script for Dragon Ball back in 1994/1995, or did they use a script provided by Toei Animation?

For DBZ (and DB?), did FUNimation have to ask for a translated script from Toei Animation, or did it come with the show? And did they already have a translated script, or did they have to make one?

Well, it is known that Simmonds is the first translator they ever hired. When they started doing the dual-version dvd's they needed a translator and it came down to him and some guy in Texas. (according to SS's interview on Planetnamek.com) If they ever hired anyone else it's unknown who it was and in any case he probably got fired since he wasn't considered good enough to do scripts for the dvd's.

Or they hired someone for DB, but couldn't afford him/her for DBZ. Script wise, DB wasn't TOO awful.

Their work on Dragon Ball was pretty faithful. About as accurate as their work on Yu Yu Hakusho. Correct me if I'm wrong but those two dubs came out around the same time, right? I guess that era was the beginning of many steps in the right direction. I'm curious though, does anyone know if Barry Watson was involved with the direction of the original Dragon Ball anime? I know he was involved with Yu Yu Hakusho.

Also, I think Mr. Simmons did translating, or at least the subtitles for the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai episodes.

Yes. Barry Watson is credited as one of the producers.

Well I am not sure on Freeza, but I only focused on the "Ten" part, I know his full name is Tenshinhan.

Freezer in Japanese is フリーザー (furīzā), while the character is フリーザ (Furīza). The elongation of the Japanese "a" (pronounced ah) generally makes it into an rr sound. The elongated ah sound comes from how the British say rr in words (like freezer). But when the Japanese "a" isn't elongated, it makes an ah (father/fazā), uh (Canada/Kanada), or a short a (Canada/Kanada) sound.

I was talking about FUNi's 1995 dub (the first 13 episodes). Daniel Cocanougher and Barry Watson were the English producers for DB/DBZ from the beginning till whenever they quit (2005?).

How was the relationship between Viz and Funimation?

Did Funimation ever consider acquiring Dr. Slump?

I was wondering this too.

It seems kinda of non-existant since neither media acknowledges the other.

Well, the comic used to say "As seen on Cartoon Network", didn't they? That's kind of an acknowledgment, right?

With all the Popo nonsense as of late, I would like to know if back when this producer was in charge, if there were any concerns over racist imagery back when Z was first starting.

I would also like to know, if it already hasn't been asked, where the decision to direct Dragon Ball closer to the source material than Dragon Ball Z came from.

Sorry if this has already been posted:

I would ask what made them lie straight-faced to everyone about the orange bricks. You know: seeing more picture, almost nothing important is cut, it has no video issues, etc.

They left FUNi in 2005.
