Daizenshuu on the Fusions' powers

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Daizenshuu on the Fusions' powers

Post by Piccolo Daimao » Tue Dec 07, 2010 5:15 pm

Please could someone tell me what the Daizenshuu say on Vegetto, Gogeta, Gotenks and Kibitoshin's powers?

Copy/pasting the interesting parts from their Daizenshuu 7 bios, which are available on Kanzentai.
Vegetto's entry wrote:He has both Vegeta's coolheaded battle strategies and Goku's pure fighting sense, and there can be no doubt that his strength measures even greater than that of a [Super] Saiyan 3. He is capable of transforming from his normal state into a Super Saiyan form. He has certain special characteristics, including that his strength doesn't change even if his shape does.
Gogeta's entry wrote:He has overwhelming power and speed, and easily obliterates Janenba, who had given Goku a lot of trouble.
Gotenks' entry wrote:In order to defeat Majin Buu, who boasted absolute strength, Goku taught Fusion to Goten and Trunks as a last resort, and thus Gotenks was born. After several failures, they finally succeeded in merging together. The two entered the Room of Spirit and Time, and hurriedly trained as Gotenks. As a result, Gotenks leveled up so much that his strength surpassed Vegeta and the others.
I don't see a specific entry for "Kibitoshin", unless it calls their fusion something I can't think of. But yeah, this is about as specific as the Daizenshuu usually becomes when talking about a character's power.

There isn't one.

So is that saying that even though Vegeto can go Super Saiyan, it doesn't change his strength at all? If so, what is the point of the transformation?

Buu is part Goten and is therefore dazzled by sparkling lights.

I believe that was in reference to Majin Buu transforming him into candy.

Yeah, that's right. I left out the part of the bio that would have made that slightly clearer, I think.
More of Vegetto's entry wrote:In order to oppose Majin Buu, who had displayed overwhelming power by absorbing Gotenks and Piccolo, Goku tried to merge with Gohan using the Potara which he received from the Elder Kaioshin, but Gohan himself ended up being absorbed. As Goku tried in vain to think of something, Vegeta appeared. Goku pleaded that they merge, and so Vegetto was born. Achieving a power-up so great that he can make disparaging remarks about Majin Buu, he demonstrates his strength. He displays overwhelming strength, and even after being turned into a candy ball, his attack power remains the same. By attacking in his small candy ball state and piercing through Buu's mouth, he drives Buu to the wall. Then when he entered Buu's body, he split back into Goku and Vegeta, even though this was supposedly impossible. Afterwards, the two never became Vegetto again.

Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks, but what do the other guidebooks (like the Super Exciting Guide and Son Goku Densetsu) say about the Fusion characters' powers?

The SEG says the Potara is closer to multiplication than addition and Vegetto is Goku x Vegeta.

I suggest to not take "A x B" as a literal mathematical formula...

Damn so even if Vegetto is turned into cotton candy he could still whip Boo's ass.

Depends on if it is raining...

Buu may have gained the upper hand if Vegetto tried the same attack pattern as when he was basically a jawbreaker since cotton candy just isn't as durable.

I think the cotton candy would just be stronger than steel or something, and can fly and do other crazy moves as he is just as tough in ANY form.
