Paint.NET might be a good choice for those who need or want a free alternative to Photoshop.

I use paint.net; it's relatively user-friendly by comparison to GIMP, and I like it. I don't know if it's quite as capable as GIMP or Photoshop though.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I use it too but Gimp is more capable. It depends on exactly what we intend to do.

Hey, I made one from the ending scene of "Yo, Son Goku and His Friends Return". It's not perfect but hey, yummy eye candy!

Here's a pan I made recently, from Kai episode 84. There are a couple flaws I wish I was able to fix, but I think it turned out pretty good overall.

From the second Dragon Box that I recently acquired, a random pan from Episode 60 of the six Dragon Balls that Vegeta had in his posession:

This will never not be my sig:

I can't believe this is on-topic.

Apologize for the half-year bump, but there's likely no point in creating a new thread for this when there's already one.

I've got a few 23rd Tournament pans that I thought were awesome when I was watching the Season Five set I got a few weeks ago:

This one was a bit difficult to make, as it was animated and the background was moving at a different rate than Goku and Tenshinhan. It was additionally hard because FUNimation's Dragon Ball masters are such crap that the immense jitter threw the frames I took incredibly out of alignment. Worked out perfectly though with some selective erasing and rotating.

I've got a few more that I intend on making that I saw when watching Dragon Box 4, so I intend to keep this thread alive!

I hate to double post, but considering the type of thread, I assume it's okay, otherwise nobody would know I've added to the thread.

I come bearing many gifts (note: the first two pans had to have extensive color correcting done because the frames I took didn't match up due to the films brightness fluctuating a bit in those scenes). Some of these are massive, so click on the image for the full size version:
Image
^ I had to make this one from the recap of the next episode, as it started fading to the next shot in the actual episode.

The rest of these have mostly the original colors, though with minor corrections:
Image
^ This one required careful frame selecting and selective erasing because of the motion lines and moving rocks. Turned out as good as possible though, and it was a bit time consuming.

The following two were the most time consuming, as they had that heat wave effect on them and were animated, so they required extensive selective erasing of some of the frames to get them to match up, but the result is pretty much perfect:

Love that last shot of Goku. Is that from one of the really early episodes? Like episode 2? Excellent job Metalwario64!

That's from his fight against Tenshinhan at the 23rd Tournament.
