Additionally, we only have 2 more episodes in general with Chris Ayers unless they bring back the hell filler in the end of the Buu fight (I doubt the Paikuhan stuff will appear in Kai). Enjoy it, folks. Besides the video games, this is probably the last chance to hear his brilliant performance.
No it's not. There's still the 2 Trunks episodes he appears in. So that gives us 4 more episodes of Chris Ayres left. Still not enough though! :(

According to my guide, the first episode has Bluma in it...NEW CHARACTER?!

>_>

Joking aside, can't wait for more dubbed Kai goodness. More Goku vs Freeza can't be ignored. And won't. Good thing it's after finals.

Hahaha. Wow... The guy who writes these guides is surely someone on this forum. Where else would you find someone who uses Bluma?

But sadly it's probably just a typo... :(

As long as they don't use Big Green, we've got nothing to worry about. ;)

Sorry, I should have been more specific. The "2 more episodes in general" was intended to refer to the Trunks episodes. I guess I could have just said that...

Still, I think Ayers and Z Kai in general make the best argument for a complete, brand new redub when the Z series gets a complete Blu Ray release. I would be all over that if it happened.

My last final this semester is Thursday from 6-9pm. I don't get Nicktoons on TV, so in theory, I'll be able to watch both episodes online immediately after taking the exam when I get home. And I will need the break.

I don't see a reason for Z, yes there would be filler dubbed and garlic jr. I don't see the reason for Z.

The reason for Z is that it's still the series proper, whereas Kai is more of a director's cut. The reason for a redub of Z is pretty much summed up in two words: season three.

Even after they redubbed it in part for the Orange Brick release, they left the two key characters' dubs as-is, which is a huge problem.

I'd rather they re-dubbed DB. But they'd need to do so with an accurate script and new voice actors for Gyu-Maoh (sounds like his brain's broken), Turtle (also sounds like his brain's broken), Oolong (sounds too old, and not perverted), Yajirove (sounds like Shin-chan's fat loser of a neighbor), and Tenshinhan (sounds angry and stiff). 95% of the cast is great as is, and with the new voice actors for Gokuh, Bulma, and Pu-ehr, it's already heading in the right direction. :D

FUNi would be lazy and "re-dub" Z in the sense of "new voices." They aren't going to bother fixing Z's mongoloidian script.

Well, hey, they gave us the Dragon Boxes! Anything's possible! :D

I'd be happy if they just redubbed all of the movies and called it quits.

This really needs to happen, I fear it wont but I'd like it to. Even for the movies with a decent script we still have some major voice inconsistencies going on (be it the actual voices or the acting that goes along with them.)

I highly doubt that they are going to redub Z. Seeing as how Kai is handling well, there really is no point in redubbing Z.

In my eyes, their dub of Dragon Ball Kai is their "Second chance" at dubbing Z.

I mean, all Kai is is Z with less filler.
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

The new episodes are out, and I have to say the worst part about them was that they're the edited versions. The only things that bothered me were phrases like "you're going down", or a hit reaction that I know exists being cut out.

Honestly, I don't have any complaints about these performances... save Kaio.

... Okay and maybe Kami saying "Come in, King Kai" was pretty stupid, too... THIS DUB'S STILL GOOD, DAMMIT!!

It does bother me that they add in lines here and there. However, many of the regular lines are just about word-for-word from the Japanese script. Especially many of Freeza's lines. So all and all, I'm pretty satisfied with the script.

Performances were excellent from nearly all parties, except Schemmel's Kaio. Schemmel's been on a roll with Goku. And Ayres' Freeza still blows me away.

Those screams as Goku have been pretty consistent. I was hoping he wouldn't be belting out the same old "eeeyyyaaaaAAAAHHHH?!"

And he hasn't. He sounds pissed. And it makes me warm and fuzzy in my stomach.

So Freeza's line about teaching Goku geology was in the original as that really sounded like a stupid TV line to me?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't quite like that in the Japanese version. But given how accurate Freeza's been, I forgave it.
