I always thought that Mr. Satan had some pretty funny dub dialogue in certain areas. His VA was a comedian and the goofy scripts suited him pretty well.

Also, iirc, I remember there being a few hardcore fans of Faulconer's music, one of Shuki Levy (probably misspelling that) and some dub fans over at Dbzoa. There were also some people from ukdb.net over there who loved the Ocean dub- we even gave them their own board. Well I did because I loved their site so much and sadly it got shut down. People did bash the dub a lot over there but (can't speak for pre-late 2002 when I joined there) generally fans of the other dubs were treated with respect even if the dub barely got any there.
Sean Schemmel is THE MAN! :)

Me- "Also, before anyone mentions it, Schemmel's interview was from nearly 15 years ago. He paid a brief visit to Kanzenshuu's forums a few years back and earned legendary respect that cancels out anything he said from that long ago. :D"

Then why is that a good thing?
The music should complement the overarching feeling of the events being depicted. If its a emotionally crippling scene, the usic should be appropriately heart-wrenching. If the situation is dire, it should be appropriately bleak. You stated yourself that the music was decidedly epic while the scene was not. That sounds like the score was trying to push an emotion onto the scene artificially rather than to complement the feeling it already had. That's what a lot of people who dislike the Faulconer score hate about it. It is trying to give off a feel that is against the tone of the scene. (Usually "OH MY GOD! THIS IS SO HARDCOOOOOOORE! ACTION ACTION ACTION!")

I should probably say something good about it now since that's what this thread is about... uum... I already said Mr Satan's voice right? I'll stick with at, Rager rocks.

In all honesty, all of Kai so far. I think Funimation has nailed it! I've watched every episode on Nicktoons so far, and if it wasn't for Nicktoons I would have picked up Kai over the Dragonbox just for the English vocal talent.

(wow, it's been awhile since I've posted outside of the video games section.)
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

I think Goku's SS1 transformation in Kai was better in the dub. I feel like Sean Schemmel shows Goku's anger more effectively.

I also liked Goku's SS3 transformation in the dub better. The music in the Japanese version practically ruined it for me.

Really? I thought the music when Goku transforms into a SSJ3 in the Japanese version was awesome. It sounds like everything is crashing down around them.

Usually an egregious overstatement as well. As for the reason it is a good thing; the music romanticizes the scene, yes, but it does so with style!
