That's the best thing to do.
Poor Chuck, he's too young.

The Time Traveller wrote:You guys still have medical bills? I thought Obama was making it so you had the same medical system as every other country...
Obama's bill didn't include universal health care. It's basically just a mandate that everyone buy insurance, and regulation rules for insurance companies (so they can't reject people or screw them over). And the majority of the things in the bill won't take effect until 2014, other than some benefits for kids and young adults. But some judges have recently ruled that the government doesn't have the power to make everyone buy insurance, and thus the bill is unconstitutional, so the entire thing could be in jeopardy.
Political input really doesn't belong here, but I just wanted to clear up some confusion, as objectively as possible.
Subjectively, however, I can certainly empathize with his situation. I don't have health insurance either, and saving up to see a doctor for a much less serious problem has been a big part of my 2010. So I think I might donate a few to help him, if I can figure out how.

Too bad I don't have PayPal, I would help him. But this isn't the first time I heard something like this. A couple years ago, this one guy in his early thirties with a wife and kid was just working in his church's worship team, then he suddenly had a heart attack and sadly died on the spot. He was very healthy and stuff, so this stuff sadly happens.
Oh and that Health Care bill has a bunch of other crap in it totally not related to health care (like housing). And Congress didn't even read it like they are mandated by the Constitution to do so. A 2700+ page bill. Yeah. I dont like it.
"Perfect" is the enemy of the good. True for Cell and true for real life.
Don't forget to slow down and enjoy yourself.

Aww, it's always sad to hear bad news concerning a Dragon Ball VA.
I can't really recall his Garlic Jr. voice, but his Pilaf and 17 voices, now that I think about it, are some of my favorite dub voices. Hope all goes well for him.

His Garlic Jr voice is pretty much exactly the same as his Pilaf voice.
He does voices that I imagine for way too many characters in my own writing. Hopefully he'll get better and this won't be a financial disaster as well as a medical one.
... There are people in the US who interpret the push for universal healthcare as the government taking healthcare away from people. Yes. Some of us are that stupid. Hence, why it's such a ridiculously political issue.

Yes, we've established that a lot of countries don't have have crazy medical bills. But Chuck Huber doesn't live in Canada. He lives in the US, where it is a big deal.
So let's keep the thread about Mr. Huber, please. If you want to talk about politics or the US's inferiority to the rest of the world, that's what the chat room is for.

This is one of those times FUNi should have been a union production to help cover their voice actor's medical costs. Although that would require all of them to join the SAG or AFTRA and would end up with more bills to pay.
Last I recall, several years back, I heard Chuck used to be a prinical at a school while acting part time. Did he finally decide to do voice acting full time?

I seem to recall he was an actor in Chicago before going down to Dallas. O.o

This has been a very bad year for Dragon Ball actors and I sincerely hope he makes a full recovery.

Unfortunately, I'm skint at the moment, so I don't have money to donate. But my best wishes go to him and his family and I hope he gets better soon.

I'm an unemployed waste of space at the moment, but next time I get some cash I'd love to give him something... Even if it's just a $20. I love his work and he's a really cool cat, I was very saddened to hear of this.
If you read this, Mr. Huber, know that the fandom loves you and we're sending out prayers and get well soon wishes to you and yours. Cheers, friend!
