I don't remember Gohan "whining like a bitch" in anything except the English dub. I remember Gohan wanting to make sure Cell suffers humiliation and suffering in his defeat, and it being extremely awesome.

It was very awesome how he got his dad and Trunks killed by being a cock instead of crushing the life out of Cell immediately.

Again, compare Gohan's (and Goku on Namek, because I'm honestly not ragging on Gohan alone here) bullshit to Vegeta's reaction to Trunks' death.

If you're capable of talking, of expressing desire, of diverting your attention... you aren't enraged. Rage shuts down those higher functions of the brain.

I've publicly warned both Rocketman and penguintruth time and time again. Clearly something like how a scene of this significance is handled is one that will bring up emotions. Keep them in check. Explain them without lashing out. This all seems so common-sense to me, and I'm struggling to understand why folks that have been around for so long can't seem to act their age.

I think it will be hard to replace Spirit vs. Spirit, since it just fits so perfectly already!
But since I haven't heard the latest album of Kai music it might be that there really is a song that can be played instead of spirit vs. spirit and actually compliment the scene like S vs. S did.

Then again I don't consider DBK music that great, so maybe it'll be a giant disappointment to veteran fans, when the music is revealed...

Also, don't forget the minute "standing around" element is also an anime embellishment for dramatic effect. In the manga, he starts stomping around and making Cell Jrs go splat almost right away. In fact, we don't even know yet if or how Kai will edit the scene, come to think of it.

That'll be very interesting to see, since Toei did two versions of the transformation.

I like the quick transformation in episode 184 better, the one where Gohan's face goes from teary-eyed to pissed.. I hope they choose that one and not the other one.

Neither of us were lashing out in the slightest. Show me where we were. We were both justifying our arguments with explanations. Gentle barbs at each other is hardly a brawl.

I've already noted that it wasn't past the point of no return, and I'm not even sure why the thread was locked without further explanation (probably just as a preventative measure to get some sleep, which is fine).

At the same time, I simply can't allow another back-and-forth tirade of expletive-laden critiques of performances and writing between you two. I understand that you've got each others' shticks totally down-pat and can play off of them to what you find hilarious levels of awesomeness, but it just makes for atrocious message board content. It's not how conversations here should be taking place, and you both know that.

If you want to get into it off this thread I'm more than happy to do so, but I don't think it's really worth our time and effort. Move on with the topic and let's get things accomplished!
