Do you think Majin-Boo can destroy the universe?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

And just to clarify, no, I don't think any Buu can destroy the Universe.
I'm sorry, but what is this new supernova feat?

Age 801 - Goku goes missing. He and Vegeta realized they were nearing the end of their prime. Vegeta and Goku mysteriously vanish from the Earth. Years later, explosions on par with supernovas were detected, which were believed to be caused by a battle between Goku and Vegeta.

The Earth has aproximately a diameter of 6,370 kilometers and a mass of around 6 septillion. The diameter of the Moon on the other hand is 1,730 kilometers and the mass 73 sextillion.

The distance beetween the Earth and Sun is 150 million km. The distance from Netune to the sun (the farthest planet of the Solar System) is 30x that. The Sun represents 99.86% of the Solar System mass, and is 330,000 times the Earth.

Enough of astrological information, putting in numbers:
• The mass of the Earth is 81,3 times the Moon.
• The mass of the solar system is 332,000 times the Earth
• The radius of the Earth is 3,66 times the Moon
• The radius of the solar system is 706,000 times the Earth

Kame-sennin destroyed the Moon with a Kamehameha which battle Power equal 180 (Weekly Jump). Vegeta said he would destroy the Earth with a Battle Power of 18,000. More accurately, his attack was equal to a Kamehameha fired with a battle power of 24,000.

The proportion is 130/1. This indicate that the mass that counts, since the Earth has a mass of 80 times the Moon.

Of course nor Vegeta or Kame-sennin didn't had exactly the power to destroy the celestial bodies. Based on the mass of the Moon and Earth, someone with a mere battle power of over 14,500 should be able to easily destroy the Earth with a Kamehameha.

Going with this, Cell would need a battle power of 4,8 billion to destroy the Sun. Of course the Kamehameha level that Cell used was much more developed than that Kame-sennin used to, so Cell not necessary need that battle power.

In my opinnion, the proportion beetween celestial body destruction and battle power is way accurate.

As has been said before, there isn't really any officially defined canon for DB. But Toriyama had to sign off on all the story elements in DBO, at least. Up to you if you think that's enough to make it part of the canon or not.

I dunno, In my opinion DBO is canon,(it disregards gt)but I can see why some people would think otherwise. I mean Toriyama signing off on something doesn't make it canon, you could argue that he did the same with GT.

No, with GT Toriyama has said many times that he only did character designs and the like, and had nothing to do with the story. In his into to the GT Dragon Box, for instance, he says that "the TV anime people wanted to continue for just a little bit more, but I [just couldn't do] any more than that…And so, I left the DragonBall anime completely up to the anime staff, story and all. That was "DragonBall GT" [...] For GT, all I did was just come up with the title, design the initial main cast and some of the machines, and also do a few images".

With DBO, it's unclear exactly how much influence Toriyama has on the story, but we at least know from interviews with the developers that he has to approve each element of the story, which represents far more involvement than he had in GT's story. You can still argue that DBO isn't part of the canon, but all sources indicate that Toriyama's involvement with it has been very different and more thorough than what it was with GT.

Not in the real world, and Toriyama probably didn't think that deeply about it, so...seems like a weird assumption to me.

I think I worked out for fun once that if a battle power of 180 was enough to destroy the moon, you'd need one of over 300,000 to destroy Earth. Of course, it depends on your definition of "destroy"--Vegeta's 18,000-24,000 would likely have been enough to turn the Earth into an unrecognizable dead ball by this logic. Also by this logic you'd need a battle power of about 400,000,000,000,000 to blow up the sun. ...I think expecting any of this to make rigid sense in the comic is silly, of course.

It's canon to DBO.
