Stop acting like an idiot.

You've said it's probably just an upscale, that you've preordered it, and you'll be mad if it's an upscale.

You've ordered it with the belief it's an upscale, if you get an upscale, you have no right to be mad.

Which is besides the point. It isn't an upscale from the footage I've seen.

Your entire reasoning for it being an upscale is they are using their own cover art for it.
Marc, for the host of this forum you're acting awfully harsh. Chill out maybe?

I have no obligation to act how you want due to the fact that I pay the hosting bills. If you pay the bills, then I might listen.

In short- I won't be 'chilling'. I will call people out on acting dumb when they act dumb.

I've seen the Japanese YYH Blu-rays and they are simply stunning. Here's the thing about upscales: Most of everything put out by Funimation so far has been an upscale so there's reason to be iffy. Not to mention that Japanese studios fear the concept of reverse importation. As far as I know YYH has never been "remastered" in the US from the days of the singles so there's some evidence for the purchase of HD masters. Regardless, why not hop on Twitter and ask Funimation directly?

And if you paid attention, minus one or two exceptions, all of those were 480 digital animation productions, which means an upscale was the only choice.

Their response, just wait and see.
Either it's hush hush or just an upscale, anyway they are stunning and the new drama was pretty funny.

Yeah, and? Things like Dragonball and Yu Yu Hakusho are older shows that would be on film masters.

...That is the point.

You were the one who said there was reason to be iffy.

But like I said there are other factors at play as well. Mainly like how stingy Toei was being with the Dragon Box masters. It could be a possibility that Pierrot would have the same sentiment. Now, that being said, what would stop Funi from from making a quick buck off an upscale rather than getting the HD masters from Pierrot which are probably quite pricey.

You said you've seen the Funimation YYH Blu-rays? Have you seen the Japanese ones? If so, how do they stack up? I remember seeing some 1080p videos from the JP boxes on YouTube, which regardless of compression were pretty good!

But once again, outside of one or two odd off exceptions, Funi hasn't done upscaled BDs unless upscaling was the ONLY option.

Only saw some of a trailer. The trailer itself was a low resolution copy, but the color-scheme matched the Japanese BDs, opposed to the Funi DVDs.
