Most shows aren't declared canceled, they just stop airing, never to be seen again. Hopefully someone will ask for confirmation if/once that happens.
I think the presence or lack of a next-episode-preview will make it pretty clear, actually.

I really don't care. As most people here said, me watching Kai isn't as same and with that ''magic'' as I was watching Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z after school in television with it's Japanese score acompanied bby advertisements for merchandise (CD's, figures - with this one, I still didn't found figures from Buu arc where Goku had removable his black hair !not head! interchangeable with blonde SSJ hair and fully poseable with Buu figure and much more. Never found it for years in any of the official lines of figures and they were pretty nice, so it's mystery for me.).

When they announced Kai, I was like: Yeeeah, that will be probably in the fashion like the Gundam Z Movies with reanimated scenes to be closer to manga like Freeza shooting Cargo and no filler.
It was big dissapointment at how nothing like that happened and if something was reanimated, it looked like shit.
Only thing I like about it is it's fast pace. That's the only reason I was looking forward to Buu arc.
I also don't like the music much. It stole the atmosphere I always remembered from the classic series when it acompanied long fights for plethora episodes, which actually was one of the pros, why I fell in love with this series.
I was looking on things like Silver Hawks, Thunder Cats and TMNT and Kung-fu movies, which were fast paced.
Those series with one-plot episodes and Kung-fu movies with fast and smooth fights.
Dragon Ball seemed to me as epic as hell in this comparison when in Z, there came newly power upped warrior and in the end of the episode *smack* cliffhanger! WTF, what will happen next.
The last thing against Kai is, that I'm already familiar with the story to it's extent. Also what I don't like about Kai is absence of first portion of the story.
So when I look after past two years of it's airing, Kai is in my opinion uselless shit good only to boost sales (in which it failed) and good only for new comers to the series, who came across some advertisements or got it in TV by some coincidence and it caught them.
Only thing I'm not pleased about Buu arc is it's absence on Dragon Boxes, so Funimation should move their asses already with that neverending release date pushing.

When I was younger the grass was greener and cola was sweeter.

Since DBZ was aired it was about 10 years, it would be extremely naive to think that Kai will make you feel the same. You have changed, the circumstances are worlds apart. Get used to that.

That's not because of that. Now I got caught by One Piece in simmilar fashion like I got with Dragon Ball.
With Kai it's mostly because I already know evverything about the story, nothing new and keeping me entertained.
I'm watching it only out of curiosity of how is it edited and cut.
Can say, that Dragon Boxes throws me kinda back into that mood when I was watching DB and DBZ in TV.
The thing I like the most about DBox is that format I'm familiar with, which is opening - recap - title card - show....
Only thing which wasn't at the TV was preview, which I appreciated in view backwards into past, because those cliffhangers at the end are really playing out, not like in Japanese TV airings, when you got cliffhanger, your favourite character is beaten up laying on the ground in pool of blood and after that -> Tudah tudah daaaaah! What the heck is goin' on! Kobayashi eaten up magical slime and is now powered up again, blasting hole trough the lord Akuma and killing him!! With commentaries from characters like: ''Yuk, that tasted awful, now I'm not hungry anymore'' with addition in Dragon style ''Hang on daddy, I wanna be a great schoolar!'' Wait up next week, to see it in unsummarized awesome and groundbreaking 20 minute version!

Jeez, with all these responses, I wonder if I'm the only one who even cares about Kai around here. <_<

Then again, I was also the only one here to mention the dubbing, so maybe only some dub fans care about Kai, I don't know.

But, it would royally piss me off if Kai was canceled early, like I said earlier.

This may be my only chance to get the dub I dreamed of, and dammit, I refuse to miss out on that.

Personally, I think the new music in Kai is really lacking, as well as some of the new voice overs and some of the censoring is really bothering me. So yeah... only reason I would buy Kai is if got released with a French dub that was correctly made, but then again, seing how most of the voice actors got changed from Z to GT of the French dub, I doubt the original Z actors would be dubbing Kai.

It's more than likely at this point that the buu arc will not surface which kinda sucks as I'm only watching kai for the dub..

I'm watching for the dub as well, so I'm hoping it's just a hiatus so they can wait for more funds to build up or something of the like.
