The eastern city.
I think that's which city it was, anyway. I need to ask you guys: Does anything official, ie. any guide book or anything else, every mention whether or not the people of the East City were ever resurrected after Vegeta and Nappa landed there and wiped them all out?
Fans sometimes theorize that the wish to bring back to life all those who Freeza and his minions killed may have done it. Just curious if there's anything official.

Re: The eastern city.
I don't recall anything official, but the namekians killed by Vegeta were not revived. Nappa and Vegeta were defying Freeza by going to Earth, so those killed by them may not have counted.
Re: The eastern city.
Surely they were resurrected. I doubt the gang would let an entire city (or portion of one) of innocent people stay dead. Speaking of resurrected people in the db universe, I wonder what they think when they come back. Some people have been brought back at least twice, and I wonder whether they have any idea of how it happened.

Re: The eastern city.
I'd like to think so too, but if it wasn't with the wish I mentioned, then it wasn't period... as I doubt the Dragonballs were ever gathered off-panel like between story arcs or whatever. Every time the Dragonballs get used, it's usually a significant part of the story, and there's the year-long wait between uses anyway, right?
I'm just looking for any confirmation that it's mentioned in the daizenshuu guides or something. This seems like the board to ask that.

Re: The eastern city.
Ya I know what you're saying. I would guess that although the wording of said wish leaves it up for debate, they probably assumed that the people killed by Nappa in Eastern city would be covered, seeings as Nappa was an underling of Frieza's (despite the trip to Earth being independent of Frieza). Maybe when they all got back to Earth they realized that everyone in Eastern city was still dead. Re: The eastern city.
I'm pretty sure none of the guidebooks touch on the matter.
On a similar note though, the Perfect Files do say that No.17 was one of the people revived by the final wish at the end of GT, though we never get to see him alive again in the series.

Re: The eastern city.
Didn't we have a thread once that talked about all the people who weren't/might not have been revived over the course of the series? I can't find it right now, nor do I remember what it was titled...

Re: The eastern city.
Knowing everyone they would want to bring them back. They didn't make the wish to Porunga while he was on Earth, so maybe they really were brought back by Shenlong.

Re: The eastern city.
Consider this, though. 17 was brought back with the wish to revive those killed by Cell, despite only being indirectly killed as a result of Cell's actions. If someone like that were to be brought back, why wouldn't Yamcha have been brought back with the Namek arc wish? He was killed due to his battle with a "subordinate of Freeza', yet he didn't get revived. This leads me to believe that Nappa didn't count as Freeza's subordinate.
Re: The eastern city.
Now that I think about it, I think that was one of the conclusions we came to in that thread I can't find. Good use of logic.Eddie wrote:Consider this, though. 17 was brought back with the wish to revive those killed by Cell, despite only being indirectly killed as a result of Cell's actions. Oh, cool. I'll try searching for it. It'll be cool if I can find it, as I can't wait to read it. Anyway as for no. 17 coming back from the final wish at the end of GT, I knew about that, because no. 17 is alive in Toyble's DBAF.Bussani wrote:Didn't we have a thread once that talked about all the people who weren't/might not have been revived over the course of the series? Re: The eastern city.
Wasn't there a wish to revive all those killed by the Saiyans, but only those killed in the past year could be revived?
And the Namekians killed by Vegeta were not revived with, was it, Porunga's wish, since Vegeta wasn't one of Freeza's men, but I'm sure that Muri would've revived them later when they got to the new Namek.

Re: The eastern city.
No. That was the original plan, but Kaio had Kami change the wish to revive everyone killed by Freeza and his men instead.Piccolo Daimao wrote:Wasn't there a wish to revive all those killed by the Saiyans, but only those killed in the past year could be revived?
They weren't revived with the wish Kaio came up with. Remember, Porunga couldn't even bring back multiple people with a single wish back then. Maybe Muri restored those people after upgrading the balls to do that? And the Namekians killed by Vegeta were not revived with, was it, Porunga's wish, since Vegeta wasn't one of Freeza's men, but I'm sure that Muri would've revived them later when they got to the new Namek.

Re: The eastern city.
Oh yeah. And then, with Porunga's wishes, they revived Yamcha, Tenshinhan and Chaozu individually.Bussani wrote:No. That was the original plan, but Kaio had Kami change the wish to revive everyone killed by Freeza and his men instead.Piccolo Daimao wrote:Wasn't there a wish to revive all those killed by the Saiyans, but only those killed in the past year could be revived?
I remember now. It was Porunga's wish to wish everyone but Goku and Freeza off of Namek and to Earth, and Shenlong's wish to revive all those killed by Freeza and his men. I agree that Muri probably restored the Namekians killed by Vegeta back to life after upgrading the DBs to have the ability to revive multiple people.Bussani wrote:They weren't revived with the wish Kaio came up with. Re: The eastern city.
To be more accurate, it was Sunday. Those people weren't at work. East City is nothing but office buildings. Friggin boring place, if you ask me. That's why they never rebuilt the eastern city. Everybody set up shop over in Satan City. It's a pretty bangin' place.
