The most memetic scene in the entire franchise in Kai with the Kikuchi soundtrack.

Here's a few more awkwardly scored scenes, taken from episode 13...

Gohan and Kuririn chat
Rather weird song choice for the recap

Nagasaki: Hmm, yeah, Gohan's father is just about to go off on the fight of his life, let's put in soothing music.

Real smart, Nagasaki.

As for the recap, talk about horrible mashing together. And what's worse is that's the same exact music for the title cards. Repeptitive, even.
So mondo lame.

Ugh. At least present me with good news and that the second half of the episode had good music...please.

It was okay. I generally post the situations where the soundtrack stands off as bad. Most of episodes 3-9 are scored all right, for instance (though 10's pretty bad). The scoring is, however, somewhat repetitive (not unlike the original soundtrack for Kai). For example, I thought this scene was pretty well scored (Yamcha's death).

Actually, the title card music changed from episode... I think 3? on. Some episodes still use the old one, but most of them use a different cue: this thing.

Hmm... That's odd. Toonzai only uses the old title card music. Maybe it has something to do with Nagasaki thinking "Hey, I think these two are good. Let's see which one is better"?
So mondo lame.

I imagine that the episodes were scored in the order they were needed throughout the world, and the Toonzai episodes were given priority or something.

YAY! SCARY CELL/METAL COOLA MUSIC FOR PICCOLO DYING! WORKS PERFECTLY!

I think that has a deeper message that reveals Nagasaki highly fears death.
"Kenshi is sitting down right now drawing his mutated spaghetti monsters thinking he's the shit..."--Neptune Kai
"90% of you here don't even know what you're talking about (there are a few that do). But the things you say about these releases are nonsense and just plain dumb. Like you Metalwario64"--final_flash

That was.. really, really weird. Well, but, I stop blaming Nagasaki because now I am not even sure that he is still choosing/placing the score. Maybe some editorial staff members separated every piece on BGM collection and they just randomly replace the Yamamoto score by it without seeing the footage. To me, everything sounds just like that.

Well, then, that is going to cause terrible placement of some music, which in this case, was no exception. But there are some acceptable music in some scenes. Maybe it was pure luck?

The last two episodes have some good music placements, so I guess Nagasaki was still involved until that. After that, everything collapsed. Probably he has already left from Kai because he is working on "C", a midnight anime now. If there is some fitting scene in recently-broadcast episodes, that must be a coincidence.

I agree. However, the music for episode 96 did have its negatives. There was music almost the entire episode, with little silence, almost Bruce Faulconer-esque.
The last episode's music was okay, but like I've said before, I disliked how Dragon Soul was shortened and placed at the end. Not much to expect, considering it was a last-minute replacement.
So mondo lame.

That's because the entire episode was pretty much non-stop action. There really isn't any place in that particular episode where silence would actually fit.
