No, he said Goku's bloodlust was the purest of all Saiyans, which it is. Goku embraces fighting for the sake of fighting, completely and entirely.

I think his point about Vegeta was badly worded, but you're still misinterpreting it. Freeza didn't "force" him to fight, but his culture does. That is, Vegeta only cares about being the best. He fights because in the culture he comes from, fighting was how you proved you were the best. In that way, it "forced" him to enjoy fighting. Or rather, to enjoy beating opponents by fighting.

Vegeta loves fighting because that's the only way he knows how to prove he's the best. That's the only purpose it serves for him. Goku loves fighting because he just plain loves fighting. He loves it even more when he's not the best.

So basically, if Goku and Vegeta happened to be from an alien race that was obsessed with tennis, Vegeta would be all about playing tennis to prove he's the best, while Goku would still be getting into fistfights just for the fun of it.

Yes. Yes, he would.

OK then. But I don't necessarily think Goku's battle bloodlust was the purest of all Saiyans. I think all Saiyans pretty much have the same battle bloodlust.

So Raditz was right after all. He loved to fight and will eventually show his saiyan characteristics.

So Vegeta in the end is more "good" than Goku is. At least he stays with his family unlike our protagonist and I bet the whole time Toriyama was thinking, "Super happy fun time Jackie Chan! :D :D :D"
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

Not really. Just because Vegeta happened to stay with his family because he didn't wish for and eventually meet up with a strong kid so he could fly off and train doesn't mean he's somehow better than Goku. Vegeta's still a Saiyan, meaning he's no better than Goku.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Vegeta spends just as much time away from his family in the gravity room...

I don't think he intended for the reader to think Goku abandoned his family as in Neko Majin he is seen training Oob while he is with his family. He was just so excited to start his training with Oob that he left the tournament early.
