Have to say I also really enjoyed Movie #11, despite only watching the English dub (was a dubbie back then). The dub script made the movie like a corny B grade sci-fi flick which made it even more enjoyable! Bio Broly looks kinda cool too.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

I like Broly, but only really in Movie 8. I think he gets a bad rap as a villain, because he was basically the only movie villain I found to be sympathetic.

Wait, are you saying you found yourself sympathetic towards Broly, or are you saying you found Broly to be sympathetic? I'll have to assume it's the former. I mean, it's going to be hard to call someone like Broly sympathetic... maybe he's sympathetic to the Grim Reaper, and that's why he helps send so many people to hell for him.

Anyway I've heard someone once say "The reason I hate Broly is he represents everything that's wrong with Dragon Ball."

I wish said person would have elaborated on that statement though, because if such were true, you'd think he hates everything after the Pilaf Saga.

I like Brolli too. Movie 8 has to rank up there in my top 5 Dragon Ball movies. I just don’t feel like he was a strong enough character to sustain 3 movies. It really felt like the villain in movie 10 and 11 could have been anyone else and it wouldn’t have affected the plot any. The other key (and kinda petty) obnoxious thing to me is Brolli’s awesome “Kakarotto” scream being handled incredibly ham handedly after movie 8 to the point of it being all he says.

That's why I usually differ "like" and "find character interesting". I wouldn't like to meet Brolly (and most of "interesting" characters personally), but I find him so hilarious that watching his movies is a nice entertainment.

The statement in post above is kinda true. Interesting start leading to horrible development, plot written by person banished from Land of Logic and Common Sense, characters imagined by child from primary school, boring fights that could be replaced by screens displaying fighter's power level- everything that can be hated about Dragon Ball.
maybe he's sympathetic to the Grim Reaper, and that's why he helps send so many people to hell for him.
No, you are wrong. Brolly is sympathetic, because his character is a tribute for all poor students. Look at his face when he appears- he had to wake up at 3 a.m, go through city to be on Uni at 7 a.m to write stupid test from good for nothing outdated trivia. He didn't have enough time to dress up and eat properly so he have a terrible headache and want to destroy everything around. The only difference between him and me at that point is that he did what he want.

What I mean is that I feel bad for the character. He was almost murdered by his own people, then discarded like he was nothing. He never seemed to me like he was truly evil... just dangerously insane.
