Re: Toyble DBAF [Sept 25, 2010] pg 175-191
I really wish we could track down where the DBAF 'episode guide' came from. Even in VegettoEX's guide to "DBAF: The Myth" it isn't really touched upon much. But the fake episode guide is pretty much what made the DBAF rumor so promiscuous. It was just vague enough to sound oddly legitimate, even today, reading some of the stuff from those old times, you just get an almost overwhelming sense that it's real.
The fact that Toyble closely follows the fake episode guide lends the belief that the rumor started in Japan. Could it have been something that made it into a magazine or something? I mean, surely it predates the widespread availability of the Internet. Maybe it was actually a plan drawn out by Toei at one point, before DBGT bombed and got canceled? We may never know
For what it's worth
[SPOILERS]Xicor Saga: Everything Toyble has in the comic, is described almost exactly alike in the fake episode list. The female Supreme Kai who ends up being Xicor's mother, with Goku being the father because she came to him in a dream realm. So him being "Half Kai, Half Saiyan... ALL WARRIOR!" The whole Seven Super Saiyans to revive the Dragonballs and summon Goku. Goku pretty much will appear and defeat Xicor with Super Saiyan 5. Xicor transforms but Goku overcomes him.
Evil Goku Saga: Returned to the living world, Goku cannot control his power. Super Saiyan 5 makes him go evil and transform into an evil being. Now Vegeta has to become the star. Vegeta will unlock a new form (SSj5? I'm.. not sure) and he beats Goku, becoming the strongest actually! And the hero! But of course, Goku is 'returned to his senses', or it's revealed that an evil demon was in his soul controling him (depending on which site)
Fusion Saga: ... Incoherent.. weirdness. All I really can make sense of is that Fused Characters will fuse with Fused Characters. It's not clear who the enemy is or what the story is at this point. I think it was kept exceptionally vague to give the sense that "this is where DBAF is right now, with episodes that are still coming out, so very little is known.[/SPOILERS]

I'm hoping Toyble does in fact tweak that a bit. It looks like the Dragonball AF sprite video follows the script. Seems like they're up to the demon guy.

I was really surprised today... I was in a collectable shop where I've never see bootlegs, and I found a bunch of AF figures... I wish I'd had my camera.... there was West Kaioshin, Xicor and Other World Goku, among others. They actually looked pretty good.

The English version of DBAF is on dbzepisode.com. It's sort of accurate...

I google translate toybles page because I finally saw an update, and it says that Volume 4 will be the FINAL EPISODE! Can someone who speak Japanese confirm if this is true or just a mistranslation?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

It's an understandable mistranslation. Basically, Toyble's life has been kinda hectic lately, which is why updates have been few and far between, and as a result volume 4 won't be finished in time for Comiket. So in order to have something new to sell, Toyble's making a sort of prototype volume 4 with everything finished so far plus his "final chapter" special to round things out. This "final chapter" was something he originally made back when volume 2 ran into similar deadline problems (Toyble apologizes for reusing this face-saving scheme). It's the end of the series, but published in advance like a sort of flash-forward special. Someone besides Desire Campbell made a scanslation and posted links in this thread awhile back.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:I google translate toybles page because I finally saw an update, and it says that Volume 4 will be the FINAL EPISODE! Re: Toyble DBAF [Sept 25, 2010] pg 175-191
So I read this recently in completion to the latest chapter and really enjoyed it.
However at the same time it made me realize why DBGT ended and it should never be continued.
The entire plot premise is just terrible.
However what's ironic is that it's also very well done, and VERY accurate to the rumors about the series. Toyble successfully creates a spot on adaptation of Dragonball AF...better than that Ize shit at least. I also like how the characters are very in-character through-and-through for the most part, and Goku in base form looks great in the SSJ5 costume.
Also the world of dragons is a legitimately interesting plot point and makes a lot of sense. Toyble DIDN'T have to do that but he did, and it's awesome. So much stuff in this series is like this like all the cameos and whatnot and tying in movie stuff into the main story.

Huh, well, maybe we'll get better scans of the final chapter this time, if Starot or Necrosaber buy it and scan it.
Re: Toyble DBAF [Sept 25, 2010] pg 175-191
It's a reference to Blue Dragon.

Here there's a double auction with DBAF 1-2-3-4 + the still unscanned
EPISODE 1 - THE SECRET OF BARDOCK (go to bottom page and see it). Hope that someone will scan it, because when I bought DBZero it wasn't included in...
It's an excellent prize, so please someone go look for it!

It's got the first 25 pages of Volume 4 plus the "Final Chapter" special to fill the rest out. It didn't take too long for that to turn up in actions, considering Comiket was just on the 12th.tomac66 wrote:Hi, the Toyble Comiket volume 4 is for auction in yahoo, but i don´t know exactly what includes.

I've found it very hard to register an account on Yahoo Auctions Jap, so thanks StarRot! I love the way you scan your doujinshis, so high-detailed...
Just can't wait to read them!
