Actually, I think every box after Dbox 3 has been delayed. I wonder why they need to delay these.

FUNimation doesn't want too many Dragon Ball releases occurring relatively close to each other, so they separate releases' close release dates by delaying other releases that are supposedly set to release close to the date the other one is set to release. In this case, those two are Dragon Box 6 and 7.
So mondo lame.

Doesn't Kai part 6 have an unofficial release date of early September right now? That probably played into their decision. Although the change of date more than likely means that if they have the DBox: The Movies materials and plan on releasing a set of them, that release is likely coming in 2012 if at all.

I wonder what they're going to do after this line finishes. Kai Part 6 is likely September, DBox 7 is October, Kai Part 7 is probably November-December, and Kai Part 8 is probably late-February or early March. At that point, they're out of DB stuff to release unless they do DBox: The Movies, a Dragon Ball Dragon Box set with 4 installments, or a DBGT DBox set. Alternatively, next year, they could actively start releasing the series on Blu-Ray, though to tell the truth, I'd only buy it if it consisted of DBox footage and a brand new dub with the Kai cast and all of the vocal insert songs completely intact.

I just don't understand why they put out these initial release dates and then chance them so short after =(

If I recall correctly, the original DBox 6 release date was this coming Tuesday before it got changed to a July date. It's amusing because I just got my shipping confirmation from Rightstuf for that set, meaning I'll most likely have it by its original release date. :D

^Same. I also have a shipping confirmation that my 6th Dragon Box has shipped. Not only that, but I got from a Funimation back in January for 35 bucks.

I mean, the Shenlong picture in the back of the box extends itself to the spine art and is part of it. Why did they change this design, and why did they not adapt the next releases to the current format? Because there was at least one physical copy of DBox 1 that looked like that (the one that was shown at AnimeExpo 2009 or whatever). It also clearly had other differences such as a blue-ish gloss finish, more like the original Japanese release. I really think that the earlier design was more similar to the JP Boxes than the latter one, and that was done intentionally. But for whatever reason they changed the design. Does the new one looks prettier or makes more sense or what? Regardless, I think I prefer the first one. :) If someone does know anything about this however, or want to toss anything there concerning that matter, I am all ears. :)
Don't they usually say "Final product may vary from the Prototype"?
Of course, I thought that as well. But there must be some reason as to why such designs are changed, no? It would be interesting to know what it is about actually. As I said, perhaps they thought such format would make more sense and/or be more appropriate, otherwise it would be left as it is. xD

But I'm ignorant. :P It was just something that passed through my head. In any case, there must be some explanation as to why the US Boxes have certain differences in their design. It would be interesting to speculate, but I don't know if this would be the most appropriate thread (if we were to have a full-fledged discussion, that is).

. . .

As for those of you who say this will be the last DBZ release you will ever have to buy, maybe you still have to wait for Toei to release an ''HD remastered'' box á la Hokuto no Ken in Japan. And you will pay more than $1000 for that no less. :P

Oh, and I am kind of glad that Box 7 got delayed. It will gave me an excuse to buy it on time to say its a Christmas present.
