What happened to North and West Supreme Kai?
This is something that I've recently started wondering about.
We know that North and West Supreme Kai were killed by Majin Buu. However, since they're Supreme Kais, why didn't they just come back again with halos like Old Kai did when he gave his life for Goku? And even if they didn't just come back there right on the spot, wouldn't they just turn up in the Otherworld (I would assume they'd keep their bodies in Otherworld like King Kai did) and still have been able to help out?
I don't know I think it's just kind of strange how we have Old Kai dying and then instantly springing back to "life" while we never hear from North and West Supreme Kai ever again once they die

Take your choice:
1) They actually are around in dead-with-a-body-and-halo form and are just hanging around somewhere far from the events of the story.
2) They came back in dead-with-a-body-and-halo form, decided to fight Boo again, died a second time, and so now no longer exist in either the living world or afterlife (per Goku's remark to Vegeta about dying while dead).
3) For some reason they just didn't get to keep their bodies after they died (perhaps because they lost to Boo and so failed to fulfill their godly duties, or whatever).
4) Pure Boo, being entirely evil, counts as a demon and so all those killed by him are unable to pass on to the afterlife.

4 followed by 2 seem the most probable to me. Is there a Dragonball exclusive definition for Demon entities?

It didn't happened when Earth was destroyed and etc.Herms wrote:4) Pure Boo, being entirely evil, counts as a demon and so all those killed by him are unable to pass on to the afterlife.
I guess too much time passed and their souls expired?

Re: What happened to North and West Supreme Kai?
Nothing specific, and there's lots of different terms that pop out throughout the series. Piccolo Daimao and his spawn are the ones said to render their victims unable to pass on, and they're collectively referred to as the Mazoku, "Demon Clan" (or "demonkin", as per Steve Simmons' Yu Yu Hakusho subtitles). Garlic Junior and his various minions also get called Mazoku, as do Slug and his goons. Boo doesn't though, but as a Majin (Demon Man) it might not be too much of a stretch to say that he is, or at least that he shares their afterlife-blocking properties. The closest thing to a definition given for who does and doesn't count as a Mazoku is given during the Saiyan arc, when God and Popo are talking about how they can tell Piccolo isn't as evil as before, since Goku and Raditz get killed by him but end up in the afterlife. So based on that being a Mazoku has at least something to do with being really evil, which fits in with Piccolo Daimao being born from the evil inside the child of Katatz's heart. And since Pure Boo is supposed to be "evil itself", going by that it would seem logical for people he kills not to pass on. By extension, Dabra and the other people killed by Innocent Boo might have still managed to end up in the afterlife because that form of Boo wasn't entirely evil, thanks to the Kaioshins' influence.lash wrote:Is there a Dragonball exclusive definition for Demon entities?
We never see anyone Pure Boo killed in the afterlife, do we?Fox666 wrote:It didn't happened when Earth was destroyed and etc.

Well, no... it didn't happened with fat Majin Boo, but he is completely different from Pure Boo... so I guess you are right there =/

Having just started watching the Kid Boo saga again I was literally just about to ask this question and thanks Herms for those possible answers, I think 2 seems the most logical.
KRILLIN'S IN DA HOUSE!
AND HE IS LOOKING MONDO COOL!
SO DON'T BE CRAMPIN' HIS STYLE!

Re: What happened to North and West Supreme Kai?
I personally never liked the idea of dead people dying, and like to pretend Goku didn't know what he was talking about, since we never see dead people die in the series.
So, yeah, I lean toward Buu having the Mazoku effect.

Re: What happened to North and West Supreme Kai?
It does make the whole labored setup for the Kid Buu fight more tolerable if Gohan can't pass on to the afterlife.
Not (totally) saying that as part of my Gohan-hatin', but also for why Goku couldn't just teleport to the Check-In Station and grab him to fight.

Those seems pretty likely to me.Herms wrote:Take your choice:

Re: What happened to North and West Supreme Kai?
I didn't even think of Toyble's explanation that West Kaioshin survived until this morning.
And that's only because I realized that the Laila name she takes is almost definitely a reference to Lilith, more so in the "episode summaries" that Toyble's AF is based on than Toyble's AF (since Toyble's Laila doesn't sleeprape Goku).

There's also option 5, accept toyble's AF as canon.

Maybe Elder Kaioshin only received a body after death because he was needed in order to save the galaxy, unlike other Kaioshins.
