I was in a maid cafe today in Nipponbashi, Osaka, Japan today and was looking at their alcoholic drinks because those were the first items on the English menu (I'm too young to drink so I didn't get any of those). The second page of the alcoholic drinks menu made me chuckle. They were called "Z Cocktails". Take a look: (forgive the poor light quality)





Also, the maid cafe was awesome; however I wasn't used to things being done for me like the syrup being poured into water to make Calpis. I almost didn't let the poor little thing do her job by automatically reaching for the syrup boat.

I don't know if it quite comes across in the English translation they have, but the joke behind the Genkidama drink is that it combines "a little bit" of different kinds of alcohol, similar to how the Genki-Dama takes bits of energy from everyone on the planet.

No, I got that, I just decided to turn the joke around. Having people donating their left over alcohol seemed more Genki Dama-ish than just using a a little bit of everything from behind the bar. =P

Well, I was somewhat disregarding what was actually inside the drink when I wrote that post. My point is, that it would be cool to have bragging rights to say you've drank something that is named after an attack/person from Dragon Ball.

From what I used to hear when I was a kid, it's because the drink is colorful like a cock's tail.

Side note: Here, they refer the cocktail to the mixed fruit juice. It's not alcoholic.
