No!I won't buy it,because i prefer cel-shaded graphics like in RB1,however, i considered to buy this game with a real create a character mode, but, there is only a create a Sayan mode which is extremely limited.samuraix123 wrote:So is everyone sold on getting this game?
Furthermore, the game has so many limitations that i won't even bother to elaborate.

Although I completely agree that this game is more limited than other games that have come out BUT....this is DBZ we are talking about, every game EVER is going to have limitations of some sort compared to the show.
try not to compare it to previous releases.

That's a hard job. Because some think they already nailed some aspects of the games in previous instances and paradoxically continue to worsen them for each new game. For me they have totally gone backwards with this game. The only thing that could excite me now it the amount of characters. If there are less then RB2...then well I'll better save my money.

I doubt there will be less than Raging Blast 2. Every one keeps saying that they took out 30 characters but they never actually said that, all they said was that not all the characters will return, such as the SSJ3 what ifs, which in itself seems to have been a lie considering SSJ3 Broly's ultimate is in the game.InfernalVegito wrote:That's a hard job. Losing SS3 Vegeta is a pretty big minus for me.

Yeah, I was hoping for SSJ3 Vegeta & Broli, and also for SSJ Future Trunks & SSJ Bardock. But with the Character Creation, we may be able to create a Bardock clone to transform him into a SSJ. But if we could create Vegeta/Broly/Trunks clones with Raditz hair and no eyebrows, they may look like SSJ3!Rocketman wrote:Losing SS3 Vegeta is a pretty big minus for me.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I've been iffy on DBZ games for a while. Budokai 3 was the last one I really enjoyed, though I though Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3 on the Wii were kind of fun. I've had lots and lots of problems with the story mode approach to the recent games. This is the first one I'm really, genuinely excited to play in a few years. The Kai dub cast should be awesome with this one, and we'll also get treated to some Buu Saga love in both the animation and dub quality. I'll still wait for some fan reviews before investing, but this one's definitely on my radar now that I saw the story mode trailer.

No doubt! They add good characters or good things in a game and in the next one they are out.Rocketman wrote:Losing SS3 Vegeta is a pretty big minus for me.
I bet Hatchiyack is out as well.

The only reason he was in Raging Blast 2 was because of the OVA remake.Titan wrote:No doubt! They add good characters or good things in a game and in the next one they are out.Rocketman wrote:Losing SS3 Vegeta is a pretty big minus for me.

More like the OVA remake was in Raging Blast 2 because Hatchiyack was in it.cloud1414 wrote:The only reason he was in Raging Blast 2 was because of the OVA remake.Titan wrote:No doubt! He is a very popular character and he is even more popular now, they have already said that one of the biggest deciding factors for characters is popularity. So considering that and the fact that they already have a model and animations for him I don't think it would be a stretch to say that he might be in the game.

Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
I dgaf about how many characters, it lost my vote when BT2 came out with like 130 characters and 90% of them where essentially clones. I'd be interested to see if each character has a distinctly different move/special gameplay style which makes it stand out from all of the other ones.
Also the Create a Character mode is perfect for the fan service, depending on how in-depth it actually is they wont have to use gimmicks of "hey we put completely new characters of SSJ3 Vegeta, Trunks and Broli into this version you guys love that stuff!" to sell more copies anymore. That marketing ploy was the main reason I avoided RB2, yet now after seeing some distinct changes to the gameplay and presentation I think i might give this one a shot.

From what it looks as of now every QTE for each character looks basically the same. No to little variation unfortunately.Patient-mental wrote:I dgaf about how many characters, it lost my vote when BT2 came out with like 130 characters and 90% of them where essentially clones. It's a QTE what do you need it to be? Classify it as a kick or a punch option, it would be a little ridiculous to have a completely different button layout for every single character. It also seems that if you are good enough and not a constant spammer you can get around QTE's for the majority of playing.

Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
I would assume that is mostly down to the one year deadline imposed on the developer? Spike should be given at least a year and a half to develop these games.InfernalVegito wrote:From what it looks as of now every QTE for each character looks basically the same. Imagine the extra polish that could be given to the games with another six months to work on it.
I'm sure most fans would gladly wait too.
Overall though I'm really excited for this game after the disappointment called Raging Blast 2!

I'll say this again, why would they have a full fledged Janempa vs Goku fight, with dialogue down to the original material, if the regular story mode won't include the movies?sangofe wrote:Up to Boo and including Boo is a big difference.goku the krump dancer wrote:Just gonna quote myself here, since I was kinda right anyway.goku the krump dancer wrote:As I recall i think someone here mentioned that only the "Created Character" will take part in the movies and GT. Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
My guess the regular story mode will end with with like DBZ and then it picks up GT characters with the Hero mode. So basically Gt story wise is getting ignored, same characters different story.
