Legendary Super Saiyan?
I was checking Kanzentai's Daizenshuu translations and I noticed that for some reason, in the special attacks list it has all the Saiyan forms(Oozaru, False SSJ, SSJ, SSJ Grade 2, SSJ Grade 3, SSJ2, SSJ3) exept the Legendary Super Saiyan form! Why? (Well, it also doesn't have SSJ Full-Power maybe because it isn't always considered a new form, and also doesn't have Golden Oozaru and SSJ4, because GT wasn't released back then).

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I suppose it's something unique to Broli, thus it's not worth listing (like it doesn't list each of Freeza's transformations).
Or perhaps the list is just inconsistent? It lists Coola's "fourth transformation" however there is nothing about Freeza there.

Re: Legendary Super Saiyan?
Broli being the Legendary Super Saiyan is mentioned in the Anime section of the entry for Super Saiyan. Apparently they didn't think it warranted its own entry in the technique dictionary. Kind of odd that Pseudo Super Saiyan would get an entry of its own, and that it's not classified as a variant of regular Super Saiyan the way Super Saiyan 2-3 and Grades 2-3 are. Maybe it's because it's anime-only, and doesn't fit in well with the main series continuity.
All of Freeza's transformations are covered under "Transforming Ability". My guess is that Coola's transformation got it's own entry because it's anime-only and seems to work differently than Freeza's ones (since it's not about removing restrictions or whatever).Fox666 wrote:Or perhaps the list is just inconsistent? Re: Legendary Super Saiyan?
The list itself doesn't have many movie-only techiques, e.x. Coola is only listed for his Fourth Transformation and Auto-Repair Ability as Metal Coola, and Broli only Barrier and Super Saiyan, while both of them have displayed more techniques than those...

Then why would it include False SSJ? Only Goku used it, and it only appeared once in a movie, for a brief period of time.Fox666 wrote:I suppose it's something unique to Broli, thus it's not worth listing (like it doesn't list each of Freeza's transformations).
At least with LSSJ it appears in two movies, with siginificant moments during and after the transformation. Seems every bit as worthy to me, if they're going to include False SSJ.
Re: Legendary Super Saiyan?
False Super Saiyan is also used by Goku down in hell against the Ginyu force.

No, that was an animation error.Dabooyaka wrote:False Super Saiyan is also used by Goku down in hell against the Ginyu force.

Re: Legendary Super Saiyan?
If I recall correctly it wasn't an animation error so much as them just being lazy with it. Toei released the previews for the next episode showing Goku as a Super Saiya-jin when he powered up to fight the Tokusentai, but in between the airing of the preview and when they released the episode, they decided to change it so that Goku didn't actually transform into a Super Saiya-jin then, so that when he did transform during his match with Paikuhan, it'd come as a surprise to him. So rather than completely re-do the scene with him and the Ginyu Tokusentai, they just went back and colored Goku's hair black again. It still kept the shape that it does while he's a Super Saiya-jin and he still had the golden aura, but his hair was black.
Re: Legendary Super Saiyan?
It was used by the protagonist, so it's easy to see why it would be given more importance.Super Vegito wrote:Then why would it include False SSJ? Only Goku used it, and it only appeared once in a movie, for a brief period of time.

Besides I don't think the concept of Broli using a "unique" transformation is that clear. Or at least not to the point of listing it among other Super Saiyan forms.
Or in the last case it does not appear because it is a transformation under the Super Saiyan form, differently of the "False Super Saiyan" which is listed as something completely new.

Re: Legendary Super Saiyan?
Broly is the only one that can go LLSJ. He is "the one" that was born with the power level of 10.000. He is genetically exclusive. Hence only he can go LLSJ which is just a special Super Sayain form with with tremendous energy capacities.

Re: Legendary Super Saiyan?
I never thought it was the LSSj form that made Broly special... rather, it was the opposite. Broly's the one born with the amazing power growth from nothing, which eventually resulted in the form as more of a side effect of that. His "LSSj" is just what happens when all that Ki has nowhere else to go, and it ends up giving him this gigantic, bloated-with-power, beastly 'Grade 4' type of deal.

Yeah you can look at it from both perspectives. I think no one is wrong.
