Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
That Vegeta vs Cell video was the best thing I've seen so far about the gameplay. Everything went smoothly, I saw nice combos, I didnt see any real repitition of combos like in the Goku vs Freeza video and I like how they even emphisized on how Vegeta brings his arms together to do the Final Flash. Now I'm excited!
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Anyone else see the cutscenes and think Wow, I sure wish Kai had looked like that...?
This will never not be my sig:

I can't believe this is on-topic.

Well, videos so far haven't really proven that we'll get the Japanese soundtrack... I wouldn't hold my breath.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I do believe the first English magazine scan from Japan Expo (was that the right con? lol) said "original Japanese music". So we should get it if they hold true to that statement, but I don't suppose we'll know until someone from Spike or Namdai confirms it.Sunlight & City Night wrote:What are the chances the western release will retain the Kikuchi score?
EDIT: Here - http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2 ... an1%29.png
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Well, we won't get any Japanese soundtrack. Some guy written on UB channel, that he asked European branch of Bandai (or the other ones that are responsible for these games, I just don't remember) and they answered that they know about fans (at least in Europe) wanting the same Japanese score they know from the TV run of the series, but there is some legal node forbiding the use of Kikuchi's score ingame outside of Japan, which is impossible to bypass. So we will never get a Kikuchi in any of the recent or future games. Which reminds me, that Advanced Adventure have also different music instead of its Japanese counterpart when there is something from Kikuchi. The most notable is Makafushigi Adventure in intro, when there is not any need to change since it's the original theme in the USA. There goes little curiosity, that outside of Spain (later in the run), European versions of the first series have different opening theme .

But that's for Tokyo Game Show, if the weren't showing the US/EU version.
There is lot of people considering about eating their hats, but man, if we'll got the JP score from Kikuchi in the game,
you bet that I will be the first human on this planet turning my hair blonde without bleaching and multiply my power to unknown levels.

We may be able to hack the game and change the music, like in Tenkaichi 3 on Wii.

Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Why would you need to hack anything? Most games for the PS360 these days allow you to use a custom soundtrack with the songs on the system's hardrive... I've been playing RB2 that way on my PS3 since day one.

Wasn't the Japanese OST also in Tenkaichi 3 in Japan? This is probably the same case, we will get some music from previous games.

Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
If FUNimation can sell the series with the original score, why are games any different?
Also there was a Shin Budokai 2 hacked iso that had the original score
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y39VaBly5TQ
I used to have it but I went official as my hacked PSP broke and I got a new one with updated Firmware. Lost the ISO aswell

Trunks vs. C17
Wow the planet explosion is so disappointing. Way too foggy. Can't even see the crater or debris forming. Budokai 3 did it far better.

Why is it that at 4:02, 17 is clearly heading towards the building, but then the camera changes, and he hits the ground instead?InfernalVegito wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtJyzQdz ... ture=share

I know. An illogical cutscene of many.

Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
I have played my share of Dragonball fighting games but after having watched a few videos of this one I still have a hard time understanding how it works. At first blush though, it seems like each match is a giant Quicktime Event. If that is the case, how on earth is anyone supposed to have any fun with this game? All the quick cutting to "dynamic" camera angles is headache inducing as well.
