I own the entire VizBig manga, the entire original Japanese manga, 4 versions of Dragon Ball (I'm including the Ocean dub), 4 (counting the Ocean dub and hopefully soon 5 versions of) DBZ, 2 (hopefully soon 3 versions of) GT, 2 (hopefully soon 3) versions of the movies, and Kai... I would say that yeah it takes up the majority of my anime collection... Hell, the majority of any of my collections. The only other anime I have on DVD are Cowboy Bebop (it's only 6 freaking discs, 7 if you count the movie which I have too), Street Fighter (II, Alpha, Alpha 2, and V the series... don't know why). So yeah, DBZ takes it lol

Dragonball makes up the vast majority of my anime collection.
Here we go...I own the Kanzenban, Tankobon, some animation cels, many of the video games, US Dragonboxes, lots of US single dvds, Japanese Kai boxsets, Daizenshu 1 - 7. Various guidebooks, action figures, CDs including all the hit song collection albums, Jump Super Anime Tour special dvd and much more that I can't recall off hand. :D

In a distant second place is my Evangelion merchandise.

It did 5-10 years ago, but now I have quite a bit of stuff making up my collection. It is the majority of my anime made by Funimation however. And if you look at my dvd aficionado, my biggest category is action inspired by that. How about you guys? Does it make up majority of anime altogether, or just anime by Funimation?
DB isn't even close to all of my anime collection, but it's certainly one of my fave Shounen series. I've been watching & collecting anime for a long time now, there's a LOT of other great titles out there. DB wasn't the first series I saw, but was definitely one of the earlier titles I got into. It's been my experience that Dragon Ball has served as a catalyst for opening people up to other titles as well as anime in general :-)

Dragon Ball certainly makes up the majority of my anime collection, since there are only a handful of other series I own on DVD. I'm much more of a manga person. It's not the majority of my manga, maybe... 30% or so? It's probably right around there. If I owned more volumes of long running series I like, such as Yu Yu Hakusho and One Piece, then I doubt I would have so much of it. But then again, if I buy any more manga, I'll be completely out of shelf space. I guess it's time to get a new book shelf, or move more of my other junk somewhere else.

Wow, this thread got resurrected! Anyways, Dragonball is my anime collection. Unless you want to count Avatar as anime.

It still does, but One Piece, Naruto, Sonic, Transformers and other assorted series are quickly eclipsing my DB collection.

That was my point. To be fair, a lot of it was animated in Japan.

I like very few anime, therefore I don't bother to buy them or even watch them online. I mainly just do Dragon Ball, so that's all I buy. I don't even consider myself an "anime fan" given all I like is Dragon Ball, so I just consider myself a Dragon Ball fan.

Why does it matter what's anime and what isn't, besides in this thread? I don't see why someone would like or dislike a show based on its country of origin. To be fair, I actually really like Avatar.

Yes so do I, and that's why it's the only other cartoon I own besides Dragonball. I didn't mean for it to get technical.

How about the manga collection? :P

I don't buy the anime that much of now. Mostly manga and action figures. Although I plan to start buying the new One Piece collection after wrapping up the Dragon Box releases.

It did at one time, but I have all of the English One Piece and Naruto released as of this writing in either gns or SJ magazine. (Both of which have surpassed DB in volumes and chapters now). Others include all of Kenshin, Rayearth, various Ranma and Zatch Bell, and completed Love Hina last weekend. (And interestingly enough, while I have not watched the Love Hina anime in over a year, I still hear Derek Stephen Prince, Barbara Goodson, Dorothy Fahn, and Wendee Lee's voices in my head when I started reading it this week). And if you include American manga, ie US comics, then maybe not as I don't remember how many of them I have.
