I'm excited, some of my favorite Buu arc eps are near the end of the story and this is my first time owning many of those episodes. (I've had random singles before.)
I got mine today as well, finally. I dunno why it took so long to get it though. According to my tracking information, it spent nearly 2 days not going anywhere, and it's only like a 6 hour trip from my town to the distribution center. -.-

Anyway, I'm right at Ultimate Gohan's appearance on the battle field, so awesomeness ahead...followed by more and more awesomeness soon after.

Wow, the sound quality on that is amazing compared to the Dragon Box version.

So are we the first to get the GT NEP in Dragon Box form?

I believe it was an extra on the Japanese 'GT' Box.

Wow, I never realized just how much clarity we were missing out on! Where did you get these clips? I think I remember hearing that these audio masters are only available on VHS. Were they recorded from a TV airing, or were they sold retail somewhere?

The difference in sound quality is astonishing! Do the Japanese DBoxes have the same audio quality as ours do?

Yes...aside from the extras, they are almost perfect reproductions of them.

I'm pretty sure Mountain was referring to screencaps of the episodes without the brightness adjustments, Daniel.

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Oohh. Well maybe I'll do that later. Mountain posted right under the discussion we had about a possible error, so I thought he was referring to that.

The US and Japan work on a TV standard called "NTSC". But both countries have their own standards for it, so we have "NTSC U" and they have "NTSC J". They're mostly the same, but there is a slight 10% brightness difference.

When FUNimation brought the Dragon Boxes over, they didn't take this into account. So when viewing the DBoxes on a computer or digital monitor, the FUNimation Dragon Boxes are about 10% brighter than the picture should be.

I took this into account and lowered the brightness for the shots I posted.

Some people don't like that. So they want straight-up screenshots without any adjustments at all.

Yeah that's what I meant (in case if I said it differently), though it's something that hasn't bothered me yet.
It drives me insane! If I'm going to have a "perfect" release, then the least they could do is put the damn discs in a consistent order!
What I do with my DVDs, since I have bloody many of them, is I keep them in large disc wallets, therefore regardless of how they may be arranged within the cases, they're always in numerical order for me.

At least it's not like the Naruto Shippuden sets, which I thought was pretty cool they were reproducing the Japanese box art for each slimcase, which only lasted four volumes and now it;s just regular width Amaray cases with the three discs inside.

Unless the actual content of the discs is screwed up, I'd say the Dragon Boxes have been an excellent release.

Just completed watching volume 7, which means the complete DBZ series via US Dragon Box. Truly an amazing experience!

one mistake I noticed on DBox 7 was the episode title for ep 286, when english language is selected w/ subtitles off, it uses the episode title for 271 instead of 286. Here's the screencaps:

Original Japanese Language, English Subtitles On:

English Language Dub, Subtitles Off:

Of all the titles to switch, too!
