I got mine today as well, finally. I dunno why it took so long to get it though. According to my tracking information, it spent nearly 2 days not going anywhere, and it's only like a 6 hour trip from my town to the distribution center. -.-Chuquita wrote:Mine arrived today! I'm excited, some of my favorite Buu arc eps are near the end of the story and this is my first time owning many of those episodes. (I've had random singles before.)
Wow, the sound quality on that is amazing compared to the Dragon Box version.
Wow, I never realized just how much clarity we were missing out on! Where did you get these clips? I think I remember hearing that these audio masters are only available on VHS. Were they recorded from a TV airing, or were they sold retail somewhere?
Yes...aside from the extras, they are almost perfect reproductions of them.DanielGClapp wrote:The difference in sound quality is astonishing! Do the Japanese DBoxes have the same audio quality as ours do?
Oohh. Well maybe I'll do that later. Mountain posted right under the discussion we had about a possible error, so I thought he was referring to that.jjgp1112 wrote:I'm pretty sure Mountain was referring to screencaps of the episodes without the brightness adjustments, Daniel.
The US and Japan work on a TV standard called "NTSC". But both countries have their own standards for it, so we have "NTSC U" and they have "NTSC J". They're mostly the same, but there is a slight 10% brightness difference.mikezilla2 wrote:this convo has just gone right over my head
What I do with my DVDs, since I have bloody many of them, is I keep them in large disc wallets, therefore regardless of how they may be arranged within the cases, they're always in numerical order for me.DanielGClapp wrote:It drives me insane! If I'm going to have a "perfect" release, then the least they could do is put the damn discs in a consistent order!BluezaBladeNZ wrote:Yeah that's what I meant (in case if I said it differently), though it's something that hasn't bothered me yet.DanielGClapp wrote:Well the disc numbers are printed right under the disc, so that would still drive me crazy!
Yep.jjgp1112 wrote:I'm pretty sure Mountain was referring to screencaps of the episodes without the brightness adjustments, Daniel.
That would be great, thanks.DanielGClapp wrote:Oohh. Well maybe I'll do that later. Mountain posted right under the discussion we had about a possible error, so I thought he was referring to that.
Oh, I can help you with that. Here are some of the most colorfull shots in this set...Mountain wrote:jjgp1112 wrote:I'm pretty sure Mountain was referring to screencaps of the episodes without the brightness adjustments, Daniel.

Dang...Jusenkyo_Guide wrote:Just completed watching volume 7, which means the complete DBZ series via US Dragon Box. Truly an amazing experience!
one mistake I noticed on DBox 7 was the episode title for ep 286, when english language is selected w/ subtitles off, it uses the episode title for 271 instead of 286. Here's the screencaps:
Original Japanese Language, English Subtitles On:
English Language Dub, Subtitles Off:
