Hmmmm...Maybe We AREN'T The Only Dub That Replaced The Music

Post by TheBlackPaladin » Mon Oct 17, 2011 4:59 pm

So I was looking through a collection of DBZ videos, and it sounds like the Albanian dub may have changed the music as well. Of course, I could just be misinterpreting what I see. Someone else, feel free to clarify or explain.

Does sound like it, yeah. Also, the French dub of Movie 12 rescored it with Movie 13's music. And the German dubs of movies 12 and 13 re-recorded the music from scratch, but keeping the same placement.

Really? They re-recorded it? As in they just brought in their own orchestra to record the music that was already there? That seems like overkill but...well, at least they didn't change the music.

And they ended it with an awesome dub of the original Hironobu Kageyama song.

I think it was synthesized, but yeah. AB Groupe from France probably gave them low quality audio masters and they wanted better.

Thats pretty awesome, I kinda wish that Funimation would have done english versions of the openings and endings to the series and movies like they do sometimes.

The Hindi dub uses footage and music from the Ocean dub for the first 53 episodes

Does anyone know what they do after that? Do they switch to Faulconer music or Japanese music? Do they keep the same actors?

Though it was a constant Kikuchi score, similar to what was done with Bruce Faulconer.

The Albanian dub is relly weird. They didn't use the ME (voice-less) track for dubbing. They used the original Japanese audio and muted the audio every time when a character speaks, then placed Kikuchi pieces ripped from other scenes (which include some irrelevant sound effects) or some random music in such silent moments. Because of that, the score is pretty messed up throughout every whole episode.

That's almost the same comment as WeakestGuyInTheworld made. So I guess either you are him or you copied it. :P

On Topic: The soundtrack sounds just like some video game music. Maybe they ripped it from somewhere? I swear I have heard it before.

That's my channel. *Thanks for pointing it out, puto.

Here is another clip from the dub. The music is so unfitting and droning.

Sounds like they did something similar to the 4Kids dub of Pokémon: Replace only parts of the music.

The current dub by TPCi does that too.

I think, the German dub left out Spirit vs Spirit.

DB Xenoverse is not a DBZ simulator with fighting elements, it's a semi competent fighting/action game with DBZ simulation elements.

It sounds like some kind of modernization of Egyptian music. It's really horrible and unfitting.

Yes they did. For some reason, it was changed to a piece of publicly-available stock library music...at least this is what fellow Daizex poster Timo has said about it. According to him, it was used in two different places before: a Chevy commercial, and a porno.

Man, for this Korean version... it's like they really wanted to make their own completely new Japanese-style opening but only had footage from the show to use.

They did a really good job picking clips and editing it, though. Usually when you make a new intro only using clips from the show itself, it pales in comparison to the higher quality intro animation... but this is really darn good. I guess they were lucky there's 90 million scenes of people standing around staring with the wind blowing their hair in DBZ...

Song feels Dragonballish enough, too. I say that not knowing a word of what they're saying. ;)
