Can you only pick whole outfits instead of mixing and matching, like even a separate top and bottom part?
Are the outfit options limited to existing characters, with no unique outfits to choose from (not counting DragonBall Heroes outfits)?
It is just whole outfits, and I've yet to find anything that wasn't "____'s outfit".
This may be why there's no option for female characters. That would probably require actually creating new clothes.
I made a recording of myself!

Hero Mode has gotten really hard! Maybe that's the way its supposed to be, maybe I just didn't grind hard enough, but there is no one I can fight that can't completely overpower me. I wish Generic Oozaru would come back. I got good at beating him and that was decent exp. Do I only get to fight him twice?
Just pay close attention to the video and notice how much damage I take vs how much I deal.
It took me a while to realize what was going on with super attacks. That's an interesting mechanic they got there. You can't just charge your ki and spam them, you have to actually attack with them.
Or do what I do and spam Ki blasts from angles that are difficult for your opponent to counter attack :p
Am I going to get any sword attacks or should I give up with training with Trunks.
I barely managed to pass just the 60% required to not be stuck with him.

I beat Piccolo in Hero mode and I got up to Bebi but I turn off the game last night after I lost. I hate that I had to start over at Piccolo, I don't know why the game did not auto save after the fight?

Yes,the character creator has the limitations you are saying.
Yesterday,i finished heroe mode and story mode.
Note, that you can pick Piccolo face with his helmet and eventually make your saiyajin green.
You can pick logos ex:turtle, majin, crane, king kai, demon, etc.
The story mode is boring and short.
The animated scenes aren't many as some people think, actually, they are few and short.

About the gameplay, you hit your opponent four times and it goes into a QTE where the winner is the character with more energy, then you enter in a combo mode while you press either X(one combo sequence) or Y(other combo sequence).

When you enter the combo mode you're just watching the character fight on his own while you press directions, X or Y.
Finally, you can't run in the melee zone,so you either fight or you get out of the zone.
If you get out of the melee zone, you start flying backwards while you enter in another QTE to throw energy blasts.

If anyone wants to know anything else, just ask.

Thanks, I have another question now. Can I create a Bardock, Tullece, Raditz and Nappa? I want to see them as SSJ when I get this game. :D

I dont have the game yet, but I really want to experience what everybody is talking about to see if its really that bad.
@Titan
Is everything really that automatic? I mean does it really force you to do that little Ki barage thing every time you step back outta the melee zone?

The only other way to get from Melee Zone to Blast Zone is to hit them with a heavy attack.
An invisible wall will keep you from simply backing away into the blast zone.
Which is interesting because you can just move towards the opponent to transition from blast zone to melee zone.
Blast Zone isn't that interesting anyways.
It's just Melee Zone but with Ki Blasts.
Which makes it a bit more dangerous because they can hit you from anywhere.
And like a melee attack, once you get hit four times a knockaway game begins.

But yes, you can use some of your Ki to try and instantly transition from the two zones while also launching an attack.
It's a bit risky because your opponent has a 50/50 chance to turn it around and do damage to you instead. Although either way you shift zones.

So I was playing against someone on ranked match. I was about to lose the match until I used a instant kamehameha on him, as soon as it hit he quit the match haha. Gave me the battle points and took them away from him. Works for me, they are finally doing something about sore losers and quitters.

It should definately have saved. You beat Piccolo, pre SSj and then after you went SSJ? Then you flew around the map, and entered the city with Bebi and began that fight?

It should autosave after literally everything you do. After every battle, after changing skills, etc.

Check your save options.

I just unlocked Trunks as a master and was interested to see how they were going to do the Sword attack. Hehe, sorry about your loss though :(

Ki blades are cool....

Well,Phred already said almost everything, but i would like to add that sometimes you can use a single counter in the middle of a combo.

BTW, i made Uub and he looks exactly like Uub.
It is weird to see a blond Uub with a tail.

I agree with this review. The description of the game is very accurate.

DB Xenoverse is not a DBZ simulator with fighting elements, it's a semi competent fighting/action game with DBZ simulation elements.

Right, while you're getting hit around by the combo, you can mash buttons to try and get out of it and launch a counter attack.
Then a counter-attack minigame begins where you have to press a button with timing, getting faster each round it goes.
You need Ki to do that, though.

The light combo makes your opponent lose Ki really fast, the heavy combo makes you gain spirit really fast.
That adds a bit of a mindgame to the whole thing, you see, since you might want to either get spirit to launch an attack or reduce your opponent's ki so they can't counter your attack, but then they probably know you want to do that.
