Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi Game Play (Post-Release Discussion)
Re: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi Game Play (Post-Release Discuss
Is it possible, to, say, create King Cold or Kuriza? It seems unlikely, but if there's a way...

They would have Saiyan tails and I don't think you can put horns on them, let alone customize their unique body structure.funrush wrote:Is it possible, to, say, create King Cold or Kuriza? It seems unlikely, but if there's a way...

Re: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi Game Play (Post-Release Discuss
So I finely got this game in the mail today and learned how to fight. So me and my friend was just playing for fun. And I can honestly say this game is absolutely atrocious!
I can't believe i defended this piece of garbage! if you get hit 4 times you go into a cut-scene where the game become a rock paper scissors game.
And if your enemy starts blasting you sure you can hold B but if you get hit just once You are screwed.
your character actually does the moves for you. I just hate this game, if it had the fighting mechanics as ragging blast 2 it would be perfect.
Also i believe if your enemy fires a ultimate at you, you can block it but there is these little bars that appear down below that you gotta hit i usually hit the first one but the other two act like they don't even work!
60 dollars down the freaking drain

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I see your frustration, but I reccomend you play a little more. A lot of your frustrations seem to be coming from inexperience. I reccomend you do the tutorial first, and then play single player.
Playing with friends right away, without experience probably would not be fun.
But, with experience, it is an epic experience.

It's your Ki. Since special moves use their own meter (spirit), Ki is mostly for defensive techniques.samuraix123 wrote:So I finely got this game in the mail today and learned how to fight. So me and my friend was just playing for fun. And I can honestly say this game is absolutely atrocious!

You only need a little of Ki to block a special move, you need about half of it to try and dodge and probably around 75-80% of it to try and counter one.
Those little icons connected to the Ki gauge represent the defensive options.

In this screen shot, my health (the dragon ball) is pretty high, so it's blue, my Spirit (the blue circle) is empty so all the ticks (representing the costs of my special moves) are greyed out, and my Ki (the green meter) is mostly full, so I have all of my defensive options (those three lit up circles next to the Ki gauge) available to me. I also activated whatever they call that limit break kind of thing, so my Ki gauge is also glowing.
Gotenks is hurting, so his health is red, but he does have enough spirit to use one of his special moves, but not enough Ki to counter any of my attacks.
Ki is really important, try to keep that up.

I suppose I'm the only one that enjoys the gameplay and its differential qualities from the previous games? Sure it can get repetitive, but in my opinion no where near as much as Tenkaichi 3 on the PS2. I find the combination of the animation, glorious artwork, music and gameplay to really make the game fun to play. I'm hoping however for the next DBZ game to be a sandbox or a 3D Legacy of Goku type game.

I never did watch the Funimation Dub of GT, was Ultimate Dragon Balls and Ultimate Shenron actually what they went with or are they just calling them that in the game because it's Ultimate Tenkaichi.

Re: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi Game Play (Post-Release Discuss
I think they called them the Black Star Dragon Balls, and Yi Xing Long was Syn Shenron, or Omega Shenron.
Re: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi Game Play (Post-Release Discuss
This alone has convinced me not to purchase the game. That's just ridiculous. Worse than drama pieces.samuraix123 wrote:if you get hit 4 times you go into a cut-scene where the game become a rock paper scissors game.
Re: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi Game Play (Post-Release Discuss
Yes, it is worst because it is repetitive as HELL and there is no freedom whatsoever.
Re: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi Game Play (Post-Release Discuss
Well yes, I knew Omega Shenron, but this is Black Star Shenron they're calling Ultimate Shenron.funrush wrote:I think they called them the Black Star Dragon Balls, and Yi Xing Long was Syn Shenron, or Omega Shenron.
Super Janemba seems to use sword in his regular attacks, so I thought I'd have more luck creating my awesome swordsman training with him, but holy HFIL, even taking a basic combo from him is like 10,000 damage. I have to use an ultimate attack to do that kind of damage!
I notice Janemba, Vegito and Gogeta all have -10 to all stats as their mastery bonus.
I wonder what the deal is there. Are the skills you get from them rediculously powerful or is this some kind of Onion Knight thing where once you get to 100% mastery the bonus skyrockets?

Really do the tutorial, and really understand the mechanics. Then, it gets really really fun. When you are a good way through storymode, take a break and try hero mode, it is harder though. But, have fun playing the two.

Re: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi Game Play (Post-Release Discuss
I have done the tutorial. I have played countless hours with friends, and lost almost every single game I have played. maybe I won 1 game out of 20 maybe I suck?. I understand everything about the fighting system. But me and my friend was arguing throughout the whole fight's that this game takes little to no skill.
The computer for the most part plays the game for you & if you get hit just 4 times then the Quick time event happens you're screwed. The game is over! you might as well set the controller down.
Because you just get hit with endless combos. I hate the fighting engine in this game that's all. No offence to anyone who is having a blast with this game,
but in my Opinion this is ''quite frankly'' the worst Dragonball game in a long time that I've put up for sale. or want get rid of fast

Sounds like you're judging the game from your player skill, because I hardly ever have a problem with the game minus mashing the four face buttons to recover.samuraix123 wrote:I have done the tutorial.
