Re: Funimation's Dragon Box: The Movies
They won't.
Having the 3 spanish "Dragon Box" movie boxes, releasing them in 3 boxes makes a lot more sense. (assuming the tv specials and DB movies are included)
Plus, they have no interest in competing even more with each other by having one release across 4 boxes and a better release that gathers everything in just one.

Re: Funimation's Dragon Box: The Movies
Technically they would not have to add a dvd they would just replace the DB movies disc.Pikkoro Daimaō wrote:Well, hopefully they will keep it in one box and with all the same artwork, except having the box smaller of course. If they need more discs for the TV specials (if they are going to release them in the Dbox movies that is), then they can always add an extra disc in each DVD book.

Re: Funimation's Dragon Box: The Movies
I sent an email to Funimation about a week ago inquiring as to if there were plans to release a Dragon Box for the movies, here's the reply I got today from them:
At this time there is not a planned Dragon Box release for the movies. If that changes, we'll be sure to post an announcement on our website at http://www.funimation.com
Thank you for your inquiry.
I don't know, I still kinda think they're possibly hinting at one.

Re: Funimation's Dragon Box: The Movies
They kept denying the Dragon Ball remastered boxsets even after everyone knew they were coming out, and announced them as "something a lot of the fans already knew". Them saying we don't have anything officially lined up doesn't tell anything one way or the other.
Whenever (if ever) they officially announce them, there will be a trailer or a press release. Until then, your guess is as good as mine or anyone else's.

Well they said there wasn't a planned release date. They never said anything about whether or not they will be released in the first place.Jusenkyo_Guide wrote:At this time there is not a planned Dragon Box release for the movies. Huh, so the word date just seems to magically appear in that statement only on your computer.DanielGClapp wrote:Well they said there wasn't a planned release date. Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Re: Funimation's Dragon Box: The Movies
I at least want the Bardock and Trunks specials in Dbox format.. It still infuriates me how FUNimation treats those two specials like the rest of the movies. They are not movies, they are special episodes. They are part of the main series, not just a side story.
It irks me watching all my Dragonboxes but knowing I don't have the two specials to watch in chronological order of when they aired in Japan..

Love that scene and entire movie.MajinVejitaXV wrote:I'm seriously reminded of this... ;pJusenkyo_Guide wrote:I sent an email to Funimation about a week ago inquiring as to if there were plans to release a Dragon Box for the movies, here's the reply I got today from them:

If anything, I'd say those are our chances of getting DragonBall and DragonBall GT in Dragon Box form.
The movies I think are more likely to be released than anything else.

Even though I doubt Funimation will release it like this

But I really hope they do
Damn that set would look good on my shelf

But I really hope they do

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Personally, I rather they didn't. I always found the packaging for the Movies to be the least inspired.samuraix123 wrote:Even though I doubt Funimation will release it like this

For the Dragon Box Z volumes, every design for the boxes were taken from the japanese release. If (or when) they release it, I'm willing to make a guess that that'll be the main image for volume 1. (regardless of personal tastes)

Re: Funimation's Dragon Box: The Movies
Yeah, it would be nice to have the same pic as the Japanese covers. I quite honestly like it.
Re: Funimation's Dragon Box: The Movies
I still have hopes that FUNimation will release the movies/specials in Dragonbox format.. knowing FUNi, they simply have to. They will squeeze DBZ to the last drop in terms of gimmicks and different editions of the same product as they possibly can. The movies/specials in Dragonbox format will be one of those editions. They already have the movies in singles, bundled packs, HD blu-ray, what more can they do with them? If the Dragonbox sold, they know the movies in Dragonbox format will also sell. It's the one thing they haven't exploited yet.
Re: Funimation's Dragon Box: The Movies
I love that close up shot of Sūpā Saiya-jin Son Gokū.
I don't see why they wouldn't use that design for an American release of the movie box. They did it this way the the Z Boxes, why not the movies.
