Do all the parts have the Kikuchi score?funrush wrote:Yup, time to grap the Parts now.
Or is it half & half? (Yamamoto for some, Kikuchi for the rest)
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

It'll be half and half, oddly enough.SuperSaiyan3Goku wrote:Do all the parts have the Kikuchi score?funrush wrote:Yup, time to grap the Parts now.

Parts 1-4 Yamamoto
and since the Yamamoto scandal broke out just in time, 5-8 will be Kikuchi.
GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

I was listening to the Daizex podcast the other day, and a Youtube member BDub, got Kai Part 4 and said it contained the Kikuchi score.
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
I don't think that was ever confirmed.funrush wrote:I was listening to the Daizex podcast the other day, and a Youtube member BDub, got Kai Part 4 and said it contained the Kikuchi score.
If you're not here soon... GET ON!
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
No, I don't think it was. Just by that one guy.
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
Is there any reliable source on FUNi's recall? Though the reason is obvious, I want to know exactly why they're doing it.
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
Well, Robert's Anime Corner Store is pretty legit if you ask me. They're pretty big in terms of anime stores.
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
I mean, I want to know the source of this text because I'll write an article about the recall on my blog. Is this from their e-mail newsletter or something?funrush wrote:Well, Robert's Anime Corner Store is pretty legit if you ask me. They're pretty big in terms of anime stores.
dragonpiece wrote:"Funimation sent us a recall announcement this morning requesting that we pull all copies of the new DragonBall Z Kai Season 1 Set, item numbers FN-08892 and FN-08893. I am not aware of any actual problem with the disks, and they only noted 'extenuating circumstances' (whatever that means) for the recall. Since the request was for both the DVD and the BD version, I suspect it's some sort of licensing issue that has cropped up (ie: perhaps the BD should not have been both A & B encoded, the cover art was not fully authorized, or something like that). I have sent them an e-mail requesting clarification on the issue, and once they get back to us with the actual reason for the recall we'll decide if we need to pull these from inventory."

The Parts are A/B, this is very likely to be too and the DBZ Level 1.1 is A/B, so the problem with the season one DBZ Kai set was the BGM, they used Yamamoto's instead.

Yeah, I'm still surprised how you screw up something like that. All of you who have the Yamamoto-fied Season Sets should save them, they could be collectors items in the future.

How valuable do you think these will ever be, if they ever are in the first place?funrush wrote:Yeah, I'm still surprised how you screw up something like that. All of you who have the Yamamoto-fied Season Sets should save them, they could be collectors items in the future.
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
I don't know. I'm thinking somewhere around $50-$60, $80-$90 max, and even that's a little high. I'd keep it as part of my collection anyway, because it'd be pretty cool to own.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
The Parts 1-4 are probably going to be more valuable even, but I won't be selling mine, bought so it's to keep it.
The employee who let this happened needs a serious talk and/or should've been aware that Yamamoto's DBK BGM was not permitted to be used any more.
For god's sake, Toei could have hired Shunsuke Kikuchi or Shuki Levy instead of Kenji Yamamoto and this wouldn't have happened.
Question time, does someone here knows where I can listen to Kikuchi's music composed from 2000-2011? I saw it listed on IMDb but can't find links to hear it.

I found some music (not all but some) on a website called Kindom Hearts Insider, and there is quite a lot (it's only Dragonball and Dragonball Z music though).dbboxkaifan wrote:The Parts 1-4 are probably going to be more valuable even, but I won't be selling mine, bought so it's to keep it.

And as for the whole music debacle going on with these sets, I got mine after having it pre-ordered (thinking it would be Kikuchi's music) and you can probably figure out what happened. I think the Kikuchi score was most assuredly supposed to be on this seeing as how the new box FUNimation made had him credited. Like many of you have said it was probably an error in their part.
Hopefully they can re-release Season 1 with the music it was intended to have sooner rather than later.
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
Well I'll be hanging on to my set then. How strange. You'd think once you pass all the legal rigamarole, you'd check to make sure your product was proper before shipping out. XD
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
Any guesses a to how long FUNimation has to wait before putting these back on the market with the correct score?

Robert's Anime Corner Blog: http://animecornerstore.blogspot.com/20 ... -2012.html
and
FUNimation's Official Website Schedule: http://www.funimation.com/schedule/dvd- ... oming-soon
Neither mention Dragon Ball Z Kai: Part Seven nor Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season One.
FUNimation, I want my Z Kai Part 7 & 8 Blu-rays!
It should only take 2-3 months per part to be released, this sure is one long wait for 10/11 episodes to buy on Blu-ray.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
Bah. Relax. FUNimation is so willing to release anything DragonBall related, I'm sure they'll release the rest of DBZK when they can or fix whatever problems they're having.dbboxkaifan wrote:Robert's Anime Corner Blog: http://animecornerstore.blogspot.com/20 ... -2012.html
