Feels like the Buu saga is getting shafted. Oh well.

Is this unfortunate for first-timers who want a coherent story? Very. However, that part aside, I'm absolutely elated by this. This is spectacular news for the anime industry in general. The more anime gets on TV, the better. I for one think it would be awesome if Nicktoons became a sort of unofficial Neo-Toonami. It seems with each passing month, the possibility of "One Piece" returning to TV becomes more and more feasible. In fact...in a larger sense, I'm beginning to wonder if this was the true destiny of Kai all along...to revive the presence of anime on television in North America. Like we'll all look back on Kai in a couple years and say that it opened the gate for a gradual but powerful industry boom on the North American side.

...Or maybe not. But hey, optimism never hurt, right?

PS: I think at this point, the title of the thread can safely be edited to "Nicktoons to Air GT (CONFIRMED)."

I would have still much rather they have aired the Buu Saga just for the sake of continuity, even if I dislike that particular part of the series.

GT airing on nicktoons is both good and bad news to me. It's good news because i've never watched GT so now i'll get a chance and it keeps Dragon Ball on tv. Its bad news because the lack of the Buu arc and the timegap between what happened after the cell games and GT is going to cause some confusion among newer viewers (I know that they could just fill in the gaps by going online and looking up what happened but IMO they shouldn't have to do that in order to get the rest of Z's story). If anything nicktoons should go back and air the original Dragon Ball (so newcomers can find out the events that happened before Z Kai). Either way the fact that a Dragon Ball series is going to be on tv is a good sign for anime in America.
If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out. ;).

I have a feeling they decided to go this route because of how much editing they have to do in dragon ball and Z Buu Saga call it a hunch but, I have a feeling they put GT up because it has less that will need edited out and maybe they are editing the Buu Saga of Z while this airs I think they will go to dragon ball next!!!! Then do a lost episode type thing for the Buu Saga just a guess.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if after GT was over they air the whole Dragon Ball Z the ad would be we showed the quick story of Goku and his friends now witness the full story including all new Villains more battles, longer battles and the story beyond Kai!! Catch it here only on Nicktoons lol

Dragon Ball Promo we showed you the ending of the dragonball saga now witness the beginning!! Dragon Ball see the background of the story and learn things that you thought you knew. All starts December 2014 Only on Nicktoons LOL!!!

It would have been a lot better if they'd shown the Buu arc as most people watching it would not know who Goten is, Buu, Uub etc Also that trailer was pretty reveling - with the SSJ4 and all. Although people may have probably seen it before if they'd search DBZ on the net.

What I find hilarious is that the Nicktoons promo actually makes me want to watch GT no matter how bad I know it is lol.

Makes me wonder, are they gonna air episodes 1-16 or are they gonna jump straight ahead? (EDIT: Wait a second there's a scene of Goku going Super Saiyan from episode 5. I guess they're showing the so-called "Lost Episodes".) Either way airing the Ano Yo-ichi, the Buu arc or even the original Dragon Ball series would've been a much better choice. I can already hear the kids saying stuff like
- "Hey that's the blue guy that appeared for like 2 seconds in the first episode of Z Kai"
- "Who's Uub, Bra and Pan?"
- "Isn't that that Goten guy from the movies?"
Oh well, I guess it'll be like the fansub days  , and like people have been saying, the more Anime on TV the better, especially when it's Dragon Ball-related. Just when you thought the franchise was dying out it quickly rises out of the water again!

EDIT: But then again, kids that actually care have probably gone and looked for information online or they've probably heard about these characters through the video games.

The site now contains GT stuff. Judging by the show/character descriptions they'll be playing the series from the beginning.

Did FUNimation ever release the GT English dub with the original Japanese BGM? If so, then I hope that's the version they'll show on Nicktoons. Only because of my own personal preferences (even though I don't have Nicktoons).

Green Bricks.

But, considering they used the "American" music for the movies, I'm doubting GT will be any different. They'll probably use "Bit by Bit" as the opening, though.

Eh...if I were a betting man I'd put my money on them re-using "Step Into The Grand Tour." Only because "Bit by Bit" was made with an uncut release in mind, and FUNimation will likely just hand Nicktoons their edited masters that they gave to Cartoon Network. Which, lest we need painful reminders, contained that god-awful "Step Into The Grand Tour" song. Having said that, if I'm wrong, I won't be disappointed in the slightest. I'd love to be proven wrong.

Well it's cool that we are getting more Dragon Ball on TV again since we haven't had any Dragon Ball shows on the air since 2005 from what I can remember. I don't mind if they skip out on the Buu saga since most people who are watching the show should know what happen after the Cell games.

Don't forget about Kai.

Hopefully, this is a sign from FUNimation of a future GT release. Dragon Box GT would be nice, but it'll probably be Blu-Ray. I wouldn't mind both. Let us make our own choice. 2 GT DBoxes would be sufficient. I can dream can't I?

Here's a better quality upload of the promo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIU4vnmK ... r_embedded
Is it weird that the commercial actually gets me exciting for something like GT? -.-

This makes no sense to me. It's not like the line between the end of Cell and the rest of the series is blurry...all they had to do was air the entirety of the last 3 Orange Bricks (episode wise).
