What if Funimation used BF for Kai instead of Yamamoto?
If that was the case then a lot more Z-Tards(Of the English Funimation dub) would like Kai because of the music. Wouldn't that be swell? That would also mean the fanbase would be better wouldn't it? And the 'Japanese' fans would have their Dragon Boxes and Kikuchi/Yamamoto. What do you think about that scenario?
Has anyone seen my arm? You can't miss it, it's GREEEEENNNN!! HAHAHHAHAHA!! Funi dub Raditz

Re: What if Funimation used BF for Kai instead of Yamamoto?
I am absolutely against FUNi repeating such past stupidity.
Of course, even if FUNi had used Faulconer Productions' score in Kai, there's still a lot for the Z-dubbies to bitch and whine about, such as the recasts, the more accurate-to-the-original and different-from-what-they're-used-to scripts, not to mention the fact that many believe FUNi was responsible for removing the filler material and complain about that.

It would have been interesting if Toei had hired Faulconer from the beginning, but FUNi hiring him again for the replacement score isn't a good idea.

Stupid to you, but to others no. Bruce Faulconer is the most popular DBZ composer(fact) and he is the reason so many people tuned into DBZ back in the day. The voices maybe an issue BUT the music is their main source of entertainment. In fact I grew up with the Japanese dub and for a long time I preferred Bruce Faulconer to Kikuchi. Only recently have I realised Kikuchi was better, but at times I still think Bruce has better songs. Anyway this isn't about me, it's about the fanboys(I am not a fanboy BTW.) Okay maybe I am a fanboy, but I realised all the versions I like have big flaws.jpdbzrulz4sure wrote:I am absolutely against FUNi repeating such past stupidity.

Re: What if Funimation used BF for Kai instead of Yamamoto?
Hardly. As far as I'm concerned, the reason most people tuned in back in the day was because it was a "cool action show", nothing more. The show was popular on Toonami even before Faulconer Productions' music came into the picture. The majority of those who like Faulconer's music only do so out of a nostalgia bias.UnbiasedDBZfan wrote:Stupid to you, but to others no. The DBZ with the Faulconer score was/still is more popular then the DBZ without the score(I.e The pre in house dub). Fact. Nostalgia? By the statement you made I could just say loads of people like Kikuchi due to the same reason but I don't.jpdbzrulz4sure wrote:Hardly. The majority don't even know the difference. The only ones who know or care about either score are nerds on the internet, like us, and we're in the minority.UnbiasedDBZfan wrote:The DBZ with the Faulconer score was/still is more popular then the DBZ without the score (i.e. The pre in house dub). You know what, the "dub music vs. Japanese music" debate has been discussed to death many times already, so I'm done. But before I go, there's one thing I should've said in my previous post. When quoting posts, I'd just quote the part that's relevant to what I want to say, rather than the whole damn thing.
That's all. G'bye!

EDIT: And as of this post, I'm now a regular!

Again, I don't understand why you need to go and keep making posts to actively antagonize people about music. It's constant. It's all you're doing. Literally the only thing you're doing here.
You're spouting out insults ("Z-tards"? Who even says that?) and tossing out random thoughts as facts (Faulconer is the most popular composer? I thought you were Japanese? How do you not have a worldwide perspective on this?), and the tiny text is obnoxious beyond belief.
Enough is enough. If you're not looking to have a legitimate conversation, please find another forum to post on.

Are those YouTube comments? You are using as proof YouTube comments? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. I guess BF's score would go well with some scenes.
Either way, Faluconer hate's Funimation now. He's still bitter about Funi choosing Mark Menza over him to do the score for GT.

Not sure about using Faulconer but after the Yamamoto scandal, I would of loved FUNi for coming up with an original soundtrack, I rather hear a brand new replacement score than Kikuchi in Kai anyday.

I would have loved Kai with a Faulconer score, especially since the series didn't even up using its intended score.
A new Faulconer score would have been way too much to ask for, but it would have definitely made me buy the series on DVD.
