Is this a good sign that Funimation will get it? I really hope so
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I believe this will be in the same vein as the previous one.AgitoZ wrote:No. In fact, from what we've heard FUNi (along with the rest of the fanbase) would like nothing more than to get their hands on it. But it seems to be stuck in licensing hell.
In other things, I'm eager to see the artwork they'll use for the DVD cover.

Lets say I purchased this DVD.it won't be Region free will it? Because I can't afford a Region free DVD player. Because I bought a Blu-Ray player for me and a DVD player for my Mom. Hopefully Funimation will get the rights to this.

I'm not going to bother importing it. Neither of these specials were good enough to make me want to shell out as much as it'll probably cost. This makes it seem more likely that there'll be a release here though. I'll just wait for that. If it doesn't happen...oh well.
Re: Episode of Bardock: Giant On-Going Manga + Anime Discuss
Well, they didn't get the '08 special yet...samuraix123 wrote:Is this a good sign that Funimation will get it? I really hope so
In worst case you can rip the DVD to your computor and re-burn it after cracking the region zone protection.samuraix123 wrote:Lets say I purchased this DVD.it won't be Region free will it? Also, too bad no BluRay release is mentioned. Animation animated in HD really looks the best when in HD, and not downscaled to DVD.

I just hope Funimation can get this. But lets just say that Funimation did get this, Would they Dub it?

FUNimation doesn't do sub-only releases. Because they're awesome.

So, another DVD release to sub. Sure, why not? It'll be nice to work on something new.

I, too, am a bit surprised a Blu-ray counterpart wasn't announced. Seeing as how at least the PTESS was animated in HD, and I assumed the Episode of Bardock was as well. Does anyone know how "into" Blu-ray's Japan is? As the new media format, is it picking up, or are most people just sticking with DVD?
I know I've been on the BD bandwagon ever since I got my PS3 and almost can't do DVD anymore, haha. If this either comes in a cool case, or if a Blu-ray edition is announced, you can count me in

Are people really surprised a Blu-ray isn't being packed in for the magazine?
If you're not here soon... GET ON!
Re: Episode of Bardock: Giant On-Going Manga + Anime Discuss
I'm not surprised about that, but I'm surprised that there hasn't been announced a blu ray. And the 2008 special never got a HD release eitherAgitoZ wrote:Are people really surprised a Blu-ray isn't being packed in for the magazine?

I rather not have a SSj3 Broly special since I feel like Broly has been milk enough already. I just finish watching Episode of Bardock and I like it. It was fun but they never explain on how he went back in time (Never read the Bardock manga since I never got the chance too).

In manga they didn't explain it either. That just happend.
Since Sayians are aware of LSSJ existence they must interfere with him on some point. Or maybe he re-populated his race by himself

Yes he has been, but they decided to give him an extra form, so they should do something with it besides plastering him on a couple of trading cards every year. As I said before, nothing irks me more than giving the characters a new form for no reason. IMO, even if Episode of Bardock wasn't exactly what everyone was wanting, it was still pretty successful. Toei should learn from that and expand. Create stories for the other 3 new transformations and the other 8 or so avatars created from the card game, and finally do something with Neko Majin Z.Hellspawn28 wrote:I rather not have a SSj3 Broly special since I feel like Broly has been milk enough already.
