How weird, I didn't even notice that my post didn't show up.

I'm so sappy about that Goku pic, it was from one of the most iconic cards in the game (and I won a lot with it), so it makes me really happy to have the screenshot of it for this project I'm working on. Thanks!

It's so interesting to me that some cards came from animation cels instead of just plain old screenshots. If you think it's possible to recreate that Goku shot with his hands on Krillin/Gohan though, I'll hold out hope.

Regarding the burning city, I could have sworn it was from the montage of Trunks walking past all the people from the future sitting on the floor, dang. I'm pretty sure it isn't from anything past Cell's arrival, since those wouldn't have been screencapped until the expansion sets after the set that this card was released in. In that case the TV special seems the most likely, but I didn't think those were allowed to be used for card art until later on in the game's lifespan. I'll have to think more on this...

I knew I had seen that shot of Goku, Gohan and Kuririn before. It's from the episode where Cell wipes out the army and Goku tries to get a new Kami for Earth:

I dunno if you've gotten the rest of these already, but I recently remembered your thread (because of your recent request thread, and I recognized your name), and I got Dragon Box 6 recently so I got this one for you:



It seems this one also originated from a cel, as I had to splice two images together again to make this. The background is spinning, and it's not in the same position as the card by the time he opens his mouth, so I had to splice his mouth onto the right frame for the background to match up with the card. Even then, the background on the card is off center.

Still haven't found the other two. The Kame House shot could be form anywhere, so I'd have no idea where to start. The city background could be a cel that has other things overlaid on it in the actual animation, as I haven't seen that yet. It could be from the fake Saiyans episode as someone's stated, so I'll look there (I've been wanting to see it again recently anyhow).

For the burning city, I actually got into contact with the person who screencapped/formatted the cards to see if he could remember where that was from. He is adamant that it's from Trunks recalling what his future is like, but I dunno. When I first saw it my instinct was that it had to be from the Trunks TV special, which turned out to be wrong.

Just found the City in Turmoil card screenshot. It turns out it indeed was from the episode where Trunks has a flashback to his Future when he's fighting Perfect Cell:


When watching the episode, I just knew it had to be from it, as the scene matched the card artistically 100%, but as it went on, I grew worried that it may have been an unused background image, or one that would have been mostly obscured by characters and foreground objects. Thankfully, they just took the far right part of that shot and rotated it 90 degrees. The person who stated it wasn't from this episode was probably thrown off by the fact that it was rotated.

Now all that's left is the Kame House shot right? I'll start looking around the episodes where Goku has the heart virus.
