Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season One has returned to Amazon! Again! With the current announcement of the suspension of the Level Sets as well as Kai Parts 1 - 4 as well as a confirmed Season Two set, this re-stock is sure to have the Shunsuke Kikuchi score. Anyone willing to throw out $45.99 for another test on Dragon Ball Z Kai? Still able for a full re-fund I believe if it's not the right score.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
Very missleading title that article has. The Blu-rays aren't cancelled.
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
With Funimation's release of DBZ Kai season 1 containing the correct Yamamoto music and the apparent re-release also containing Yamamoto's music, it seems that some at Funimation are stubbornly persistent to keep the Yamamoto music and determined to fight to the end to retain it.
I know how they feel.

You read too much into it. It's just that they are so sloppy.RazorX wrote:With Funimation's release of DBZ Kai season 1 containing the correct Yamamoto music and the apparent re-release also containing Yamamoto's music, it seems that some at Funimation are stubbornly persistent to keep the Yamamoto music and determined to fight to the end to retain it.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
So has anyone found out if they replaced the music on the restocked seasons?

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
Actually I think it's quite possible that they really do want to keep the Yamamoto score in Kai and are fighting to retain it because if they didn't than the re-print of Season 1 would've almost certainly had the Kikuchi score, but it doesn't why would they make the same exact mistake twice in a row? Not only that but Part 7 is taking a lot longer to release (out of all other previous parts which strikes me as odd since Funimation usually releases Kai in a timely manner) so the idea of them wanting to keep Yamamoto's music in Kai might not be entirely out of the question.kei17 wrote:You read too much into it. If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out.

The big mistake on FUNimation's part is they're not releasing nor announcing for the time being the DB Zed Kai S1 with Kikuchi's DBZ Replacement.superrayman3 wrote:Actually I think it's quite possible that they really do want to keep the Yamamoto score in Kai and are fighting to retain it because if they didn't than the re-print of Season 1 would've almost certainly had the Kikuchi score, but it doesn't why would they make the same exact mistake twice in a row? FUNi unintentionally could get into lawsuits for something they didn't even produced but are allowing to.
Yamamoto plagiarised other musicians.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
With all this musical replacement nonsense and confusion going around, it would be absolutely crazy if Part 7 released with the Yamamoto score on it. I certainly would be overjoyed(not to mention, that'd leave me with only a Kikuchi and Faucloner track to produce for my Kai MRS project), but I very highly doubt such a thing is happening, or is a reason for the long delay of Part 7.
Though, honestly, the Season 1 "gaff" is really baffling, since Funimation could legally be liable to Toei for releasing Yamamoto scored episodes when it's extremely clear Toei wants absolutely nothing to do with it. It'll be interesting none-the-less when the second Season Set comes out, and if the Yamamoto score is once again "mistakenly" on the sets.

I'd be overjoyed as well but like you said it's very doubtful that this is the case with Part 7 although I have a feeling that the music had something to do with the major delay of part 7.saiyanprimalforce wrote:With all this musical replacement nonsense and confusion going around, it would be absolutely crazy if Part 7 released with the Yamamoto score on it. Agreed this whole season 1 problem is really akward, Funimation made the mistake of retaining the Yamamoto score when the season 1 sets were first released (even after confirming that it would be the Kikuchi score) and only after people addressed this did they issue a recall to supposedly "fix" the problem, now fast forward a few weeks later Season 1 goes back into stock and people buy it thinking that the Yamamoto score has been replaced only to be disappointed when once again it's there, now a 3rd stock is availiable and something tells me that it will also contain the Yamamoto score I don't know what's going on with Funimation but something about this whole music situation seems off.saiyanprimalforce wrote:Though, honestly, the Season 1 "gaff" is really baffling, since Funimation could legally be liable to Toei for releasing Yamamoto scored episodes when it's extremely clear Toei wants absolutely nothing to do with it. I'm surprised no one did an unboxing for this on YT. I searched and search and couldn't find one. I'm not gonna buy it, but I was curious as to how the discs and box art looked in comparison to the singles. Luckily someone posted detailed pics in this thread back on like pg.4.

Thank god for the gaff, I got into the game pretty late and now hopefully I can find a set with the Yamamoto score still on it.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
My God. And to think that I was in the market to order some BD Kai releases later this month, as I haven't been closely following all these chaos regarding the score replacement and the discontinuing of the "Part _" releases in favor of the season sets. So let's get this straight...unless I really like Kenji Yamamoto's score for Dragon Ball Z Kai Parts 1-4 (or the current Season 1 release and parts 3-4), then I have two options -
1) Buy Parts 5 and 6 now, and pre-order Part 7, and wait a few months for the release of the new Season 1 and Season 2 sets to come out, as well as Part 8, which will all contain Shunsuke Kikuchi's replacement score, or
2) Buy absolutely nothing now and wait for Seasons 1-4 to be released (ideally) throughout the span of the next 8-12 months.

It's been done countless times before, but...

Now, for newcomers, the right thing is to wait for all four seasons, don't really buy Parts 5-8 if you don't even have Parts 1-4 to complete the collection.
I do plan on buying all 4 seasons but only when they're properly released in the market.

In some very odd and confusing news it seems that there will be a re-release for Dragon Ball Kai Season 1 in May. I wonder if this re-release will finally have the proper Kikuchi score.

Yeah but the prices never decreased to $25-30 it's always been about $40-45, nor did I see an official announcement of FUNi saying they were re-releasing back then.Samwize78 wrote:Hasn't it been Yamamoto the past 2 times in went back into stock?

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 Discussion
I have literally fallen in and out of interest in Kai 5 times over waiting for Funi to get their shit together. They must have been waiting to say "See, even WITH the Dragonbox this show has so much filler your DVD drawer STILL looks like Weaboocon 12'!" in which I reply "Touche Funi...touche'."PuppetDoctor wrote:In some very odd and confusing news it seems that there will be a re-release for Dragon Ball Kai Season 1 in May.
