Can characters be revived more than once by Porunga?
I was thinking of Kuririn - then realised that he dies three times. He is revived once by Earth's dragonballs, then twice by the Namekian dragonballs.
How?
I'm sure he isn't the only example either.
EDIT: He is revived AGAIN in GT by Shenlong, but this is hardly relevant considering all the plotholes in GT.

Dende says at the end of the Namek arc that their DBs can revive anybody an unlimited number of times unless they died naturally.
You could almost hear the remaining tension in the story snap.

So why didn't they travel to New Planet Namek and revive Goku?

So Goku wasn't revived in Trunks's timeline because he died of a heart disease.Rocketman wrote:Dende says at the end of the Namek arc that their DBs can revive anybody an unlimited number of times unless they died naturally.

They don't know where New Namek is to even attempt to revive Goku a second time in the scenario you just mentioned.Goten Forever wrote:So Goku wasn't revived in Trunks's timeline because he died of a heart disease.Rocketman wrote:Dende says at the end of the Namek arc that their DBs can revive anybody an unlimited number of times unless they died naturally.

A machine gun wouldn't kill Gokuu when we've seen that he can bounce off bullets and even stronger attacks from guys that can destroy planets in one blast. And even if you tried that, chances are it would be like the Great Elder situation.Goten Forever wrote:So Goku wasn't revived in Trunks's timeline because he died of a heart disease.Rocketman wrote:Dende says at the end of the Namek arc that their DBs can revive anybody an unlimited number of times unless they died naturally.

Well, they don't know where New Namek is anyway. Gokuu could try like he did in the Cell arc, but he'd probably take the same mentality as he did after the Cell Games (wishing to remain dead to check out challenges in the afterlife).

Re: Can characters be revived more than once by Porunga?
He probably wasn't revived because they had no idea where New Namek was and may not have had a way to get there if they did. Also, we have no idea if a heart disease counts as a "natural death" to Shenlong and Porunga. I'd argue that a contagious disease is something that attacks your body and kills you, which isn't any more a natural death than being eaten by a lion.Goten Forever wrote:So Goku wasn't revived in Trunks's timeline because he died of a heart disease.
Are you saying dying from machine gun fire is a natural death?Wonder why nobody put a machine gun to his head.

I said 'machine gun' because it ISN'T a natural death. xD
They don't know where new Namek is? Surely they could have found out through Kaio-sama?

Re: Can characters be revived more than once by Porunga?
That would mean Kaiou-sama would be interfering in natural order and whatnot. I mean, yeah, he did it in the Freeza arc, but perhaps that was because Gokuu was his student and/or if they angered Freeza, that could have dangerous repercussions on numerous galaxies, and then the blame could be put on him for not doing something about it or encouraging them inadvertently or something.Goten Forever wrote:They don't know where new Namek is? Besides, as I said, Gokuu would probably take the same mentality he did in the Cell arc.

How would you contact Kaio when Goku and Kami are both dead?Goten Forever wrote:They don't know where new Namek is? Surely they could have found out through Kaio-sama?

I think old age and heart disease fit in the same category. I mean isn't age technically making you weaker after you hit a certain number.

That's true. They could even have used the Earth dragon balls to get to Namek, in that case.Gonstead wrote:After Goku and before the Androids, they still had Kami.

Re: Can characters be revived more than once by Porunga?
I always assumed that even if they could contact Kaio-sama to find out the coordinates of New Namek, they wouldn't have the technology to reach there. Recall, Dr. Brief needed goku's ship before he could make repairs. They probably don't have the neccessary parts either. IIRC, frieza's business is supposed to have superior technology right?
Re: Can characters be revived more than once by Porunga?
Well Goku would have died of natural causes so they wouldn't be able to wish him back, and they had no knowledge of the Artificial Humans coming, so I'd imagine it all happened fairly abruptly. Meaning that there really wouldn't be ample time to do anything, at least not until enough was known about the situation, which Kami could have well been dead by.

Regarding the bit of filler we see during the Namek arc, he was capable of making another ship...in Toei's world.Mystic Gohan wrote:I always assumed that even if they could contact Kaio-sama to find out the coordinates of New Namek, they wouldn't have the technology to reach there. What about Nappa's ship?
And surely if he's made a ship before he'll have noted down technology to develop and make another? I mean, Bulma learnt how to make Scouters.

But yeah, they probably wouldn't think of killing him themselves to make his death 'unnatural', like you said they would have been panicing almost.
Why did Piccolo have to go get himself killed?
