No way is Vegeta Goku's first real challenge. That'd be Jackie Chun, maybe Tao Pai-Pai at the latest.

Sometimes, I tweet things
We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

Oh yes, exactly. Though with jackie, there was no intent to kill, and goku wasnt truly beaten up too badly, id say Tao was definitely the first truly major battle for goku, it was the first time he was hurt so badly, and the first time he had to train specifically for one opponent. His first opponent that he wasnt a real match for too.

Piccolo Daimao!
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

Read my whole post again. I meant what would come to make Goku to mature such as a fighter, that he got stronger on his own, and didn't rely on masters such as Karin, Kami or Kaio anymore to achieve his goals.

That's what the director of each episode does. Animators don't have any rights to change the storyboard. I do understand why Uchiyama and Last House are so disliked, but I hate seeing them being accused of something they were not even involved in.

I noticed that the very first time I saw that fight. I'm surprised that so many of you didn't.
