No, No, No. I hate DLC characters. Costumes and extra modes is fine but I hate anything that can be game changing for DLC. What I mean is adding characters in the next game. So since we get a DBZ game every year they could add maybe 8-12 characters per game or if they released a Tenkaichi style game and Budokai kind of game in rotation (What I would like is something like Budokai 2013, Tenkaichi 2014, Budokai 2015, Tenkaichi 2016, etc, etc) then do more character additions per game.dbboxkaifan wrote:DLCs?dario03 wrote:I want the characters in the game to be different from one another and be balanced. A large roster of different and balanced characters would require a longer development time. And games usually have a budget and time frame that they are working with. So I would rather they spend the time on the gameplay and making the characters unique compared to just jamming in a bunch of copy and paste characters. Plus they release a game every year so they can always add more later.
That happened with RB1 but they added characters which already existed but pumped to the max.
RB2 had some exclusive pre-order DLC codes for uniforms or w/e.

More interesting stages. Basil Airport? Kaio's Planet? Iguana Street? Babidi's Ship? Garlic Jr.'s palace from DBZ Movie 1? Anyone?
Re: Things you'd like to see in a Dragonball Z game
I've always wanted to play in Babidi's ship. It could be it's own mode in fact, the arena could begin as the interior of the ship, then change during (or after multiple rounds/stages, depending on how the mode is run) the battle, allowing us to fight in the places shown in B's ship, or anywhere other stages. I don't know, but a mode like this has potential. In versus, the arena could just change after a round (if there are rounds), or during battle, but only to the stages shown in the anime in B's ship.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:More interesting stages. There are still a few new things they can do with the game it seems, I hope they know that. I can't visualise most of the other stages you mentioned, apart from Garlic Jr.'s palace.
Re: Things you'd like to see in a Dragonball Z game
Kaio's planet would only work if it looped so you could charge-punch somebody, then sidestep so they fly around the planet and past you.

xD I would love that. High hopes!
The new graphics look good, but why the black lines on clothes? They don't work well in video games, they represent creases. Instead, add the actual creases.

Stylistically I can understand why they did it. In theory it makes them more like the cartoon. Also, the clothes are apart of the model. Again I understand why they did it; easier to animate less data to load etc. However, it just looks lazy. If they were willing to make the clothes a separate part of the character, they could add more animation detail and make realistic rips and tears. I wouldn't mind the outline because well, the show did it. However, there is no excuse to not make them look better than lumps.

Re: Things you'd like to see in a Dragonball Z game
The show did it because they didn't make the show in 3d. They don't need to make it in game like that. Just make the clothes more detailed, not liney.

A Dragon Ball Party Game could be fun depending how well the mini games are. I personally would give it a try.

DBZ Kinect will be like Fable Kinect, one shitty rollercoaster ride where you have no control. Advanced fighting as seen in real DBZ games is impossible on a crappy device like that.
Fable kinect looks no more advanced (less so even) than Pokemon Snap, which is literally a shitty rollercoaster ride with a camera.

Yes, because Dragon Ball Z games are the pinnacle of gaming, with such incredible depth to them that they can't possibly be replicated using the Kinect. Also them moving away from the fighting game genre for this one would be a breath of fresh air, which the games desperately need after eighteen piss-poor Sparking games in a row.Goten Forever wrote:DBZ Kinect will be like Fable Kinect, one shitty rollercoaster ride where you have no control. I agree that the Fable Kinect game looks bad, but the fuck are you doing bashing Snap? Pokemon Snap is quite possibly the greatest Pokemon game ever made, it's either it or Pokemon Puzzle League.Goten Forever wrote:Fable kinect looks no more advanced (less so even) than Pokemon Snap, which is literally a shitty rollercoaster ride with a camera.

Re: Things you'd like to see in a Dragonball Z game
Thing is, I don't think they are going to be able to match the "quality" of the annual fighting games; especially if Spike is doing it. Hell if any Japan studio is handling the Kinect game don't expect anything close to halfway decent. With the lack of 360 and Kinect support in the land of the rising sun, I doubt there will be many skilled developers who can handle the device. We barely have those in the US...Dance Central is like the only well praised game I can think of off hand. I guess you can count games like Mass Effect 3 and Forza 3 which incorporate gimmicks in their games but they aren't a requirement; and further driving the point home, they are just gimmicks.Taku128 wrote: Yes, because Dragon Ball Z games are the pinnacle of gaming, with such incredible depth to them that they can't possibly be replicated using the Kinect. It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.
Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

Re: Things you'd like to see in a Dragonball Z game
If they do stick with fighting games I'de like to see one that's closer to the actual show in terms of the fighting, destruction and the way the characters affect the stages. In the anime the Z fighters and villains look infinitely more powerful than they do in the games and I think it has a lot to do with how the environment reacts to them.

Craters would be an awesome way to show how powerful you are when you power up or transform and I'm surprised it hasn't been used in any of the games yet. Obviously weaker characters like Yamcha wouldn't need this and even the Saiyans in base form wouldn't either but once you transform to Super Saiyan onwards it would be a great way to show your fighter's power.

The skies in the anime are always changing colour or being affected in some way by transformations and powerful attacks.
I think it would be really epic to have your actions in the game be the cause of a lightning storm for example.

Floating rocks! They just make power ups look so much better. Although, again, like the craters I would reserve this for the more powerful characters and transformations.

On Supreme kai's planet during the fight between Goku and Kid Buu we saw tectonic movement with pieces of the ground shifting. I'de love it if this could be created in the games even if it's just small sections of the stage rising and falling to give the feeling that the battlefield has changed mid fight.

one thing I always hated about the Tenkaichi games was how colliding ki blasts just cancelled each other out in a small puff of smoke. I always liked how in the anime you'de see an explosion whenever ki blasts collided.

Breaking away from effects and destruction and more onto fighting I'de like to see some kind of "fake" attack or decoy attack.

Another gameplay element I'de like added are underground sneak attacks. It may sound unusual at first but fighters have done this numerous times throughout the anime and like the decoy attack I think it could have potential to shake up the gameplay a bit.

Yep, if they make a sequel to Ultimate Blast, it would likely happen.

I'm taking the piss out of what is actually happening in the game - the photographer is sitting on a cart which is travelling across the land, which means it's literally a terrible rollercoaster rideTaku128 wrote:

I am not implying the game is bad altogether, it's just very basic - take a picture. I like Pokemon Snap. But I probably won't like DBZ Kinect as it won't recreate the beautiful scenes seen in Snap or the DB fighting seen in normal games. This is what DBZ kinect will probably be like.
