Why is the height consistency so terrible in Dragon Ball Z?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

It's not that different. In both images, Nappa's legs are of the same height as Goku (minus the head), and his hands are around the size of Goku's head.

It's very different. The distance between them is not nearly the same in the images.

Perhaps. But the animation studio seems quite different, and Goku is fat in the second picture. =S

Another question: It is possible to make so many episodes, which somewhat short time, with different animation teams, with height consistency?

Consistency is for chumps.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Well, I mean, that is the reason that all of those character height comparison and model sheets (like the ones in the Dragon Book) exist: they draw those up so they can distribute them to all the different studios so that stuff like that can (ostensibly) stay consistent.
