The Freeza Saga Challenge

Post by Gonstead » Wed May 16, 2012 7:51 am

You think you got what it takes to watch the entire Freeza Saga in 1 day? And it's the Season 3 dub no less!

Based on this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zmrBL9KEj0

Could I? I could, but it's definitely gonna make me wish it was Kai instead.

If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? I couldn't bring myself to watch any saga in the English Z dub in any amount of days, so no. If it was Kai... maybe, if I had enough free time.

I hate to say it, but I can barely get past 3 episodes of any part of Dragonball without falling asleep. I've been like that for years. It's weird...am I losing interest in the series? Haha no, no, that can't be it.

I would watch it and probably enjoy it. It would be a nice trip down nostalgia lane. I haven't watched the english dub in years so I think it would be interesting, and I could laugh at all the terrible dub lines. Makes you appreciate the original that much more.

I actually done this, a few years ago when I first got season 3, I watched it all back to back, English with dub music. I remember time flying by when watching it.

You're not alone. I'm the exact same way.
Nah, you guys are just starting to realise how much the anime actually sucks. Don't worry, I'm right there with ya.

You too, Rory? I guess it's time we grow up and start watching shows appropriate for our age. My Little Pony?

I can understand not being able to watch season 3 for hours.. But the other ones I could watch at least 6-7 episodes per viewing. Especially the tenkaichi tourneys and the saiyan arc.

To be honest I could barely watch past 3 episodes of anything at a time without drifting off...maybe I have ADD.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I don't think I could watch the whole thing in JAPANESE in a WEEK, let alone the season 3 dub in a day!

I think you're better off dubbed; at least you can laugh at the hilariously bad voice-acting and dialogue.

Like that with any anime series with me. Maybe it's because I watch all my anime around the time I usually go to bed.

I would probably become bored after a few minutes. I can marathon episodes if I've never seen them before, but after I've seen them, no way! I can't sit through all that filler again! Now that I've watched through the entire series and I know what happens, I can really only re-watch main events. Maybe 5 years from now I'll feel like marathoning again. But like many of you have said, I often doze off during episodes (especially Namek episodes. The greens are so soothing...)

My Little Pony... You's be surprised how entertaining it is...

I fell asleep watching the Dragon Boxes Z and Dragon Ball Kai on Blu-ray before so I'd probably close my eyes before I knew it.

For comedic purposes, the dub might actually be funny, but I'd skip it, too.

I watched 17 episodes (52-69) of DBZ yesterday and it was a school day. I could probably do 33 episodes on a free day easy.

My previous bests are 36 episodes of FMA1 in one day last summer + ~32 (honestly I can't remember the exact amount but I remember going through the last few episodes of one of the BD sets and then the entire next one and had to stop because... ran out of episodes for the time being. I already bought the next BD set on Amazon knowing I was chewing through episodes fast and but it didn't arrive by the time I felt like sitting down and watching some of it :?) of Yu Yu Hakusho this past spring break.

For some reason I have an inclination to marathon shounen anime. It's not the only type of anime I watch, but it's the only type I can marathon for some reason. I guess it's that "gotta see what happens next" feeling.

There's no day that'll guarantee me no interruptions for 24 hours, so it'll be really hard time-wise. Even worse is the fact that Z Freeza saga is unbearably long for what it is. Even Kai Japanese would be a hell-haul. Maybe one day I'll pass by the dub again for nostalgia purposes - just to get a laugh at the bad voice acting to keep me interested.
