What special ability would you give Jheese?

I was thinking about that to. Perhaps Butta is faster than him in a straight line but Ginyu is quicker in a fight. Though the anime (and maybe the manga, but I don't recall) seems to go against that.

Yeah, that's the kind of thing I'm talking about. Not so much reflexes and reaction speed, but more like "travel/movement speed." The idea is that Butta, with his specialty of speed, is capable of simply moving much faster than someone else of his power level, and is even faster than Ginyu. That doesn't necessarily factor into his perception skills and reflexes, which would be more important in an actual fight.

Whereas Ginyu apparently suffers in the speed department a bit, and is slower than people with lower power levels than him. But his senses and reflexes are on-par with his power, and he was able to have a slight edge on Goku in close-quarters combat, fitting with how their power levels would compare.

I like the idea of one of Ginyu's advantages over Butta being his perception. He seems to be the sole Ginyu Force member capable of altering his combat power, which suggests to me that his formal combat skills are superior to most of Freeza's henchmen, who mostly come across as goons with freakishly high combat powers.

Most of the characters seem to pick up the abilities to focus their ki and sense the ki of others around the same time they learn better perception and to be more in tune with their surroundings. I like to think Vegeta taught himself how to sense ki so easily because he had some of the basic principles down already -- the ease with which he detects Kurilin's kienzan suggests a decent sense of his surroundings, at least when he knows he's looking for someone.

I guess that's a fair explanation. Batta was faster than Ginyu, and Ginyu in Goku's body was much faster than Gohan and Kuririn, but their reflexes are not, since they depends mostly of their battle power.

They seemed to be working well against Goku (even though Captain Ginyu didn't want any help).
Maybe his specialty is teamwork, hence the fact that he worked well with both Butta and Ginyu.

I think it'd be cool to play up Jheese's arrogance by making him a sort of tactitian, that way his eventual fall by Vegeta's hand would be all the more sweet.

I was giving this a thought last night and I came to the conclusion that Jheese's must be the most balanced in terms of strength and speed (besides Ginyu). And probably the most skilled fighter besides Ginyu.

I don't really understand why each one give them titles when Ginyu is actually the best of them. I mean, how Butta is the fastest of the universe when Goku simply outspeed him and it was on equal fight with Ginyu? I mean, how he can be fastest if Ginyu is faster?

Goku was faster than Ginyu despite having a lower power level than him, so perhaps speed isn't entirely dependent on power level. If speed really is Butta's extreme specialty, but it happens to be a department Ginyu is lacking in (he's a pretty big n' bulky guy, and once in Goku's body he praises it for its speed despite only being able to access a fraction of its power), then it's not too much of a stretch to think Butta's faster than him too. Like, if Ginyu's only half as fast as he is strong, but Butta's twice as fast as he is strong.

This is similar to how despite Trunks raising his power level when fighting Cell, to the point where they are almost even in BP, he falls short in the speed department.
