No, Chichi is actually poor. No, she mentioned that the money she got from Gyuumao was running out. And in the manga version of Yo! Son Goku and his friends return! Goku mentions that Satan paid them a lot of money to let him take credit for defeating Boo, so they don't need to work.

She may be a little greedy, but aren't we all? Also, she seemed to have mellowed out in the 7 years post-Cell. For example, she allowed Goten to spar with her (and Trunks too, apparently) and was eager to have Gohan take time off school so he could train to enter the 25th Tenkaichi Budoukai and win the prize money. Like I said, something must've happened in the years between Cell and Boo to spark that change in her. Probably Gokuu's permanent death made her realize just how important fighting, in the interest of protecting the planet from evil, was. As well as seeing her son get the shit beaten out of him on live TV. Maybe Funimation tried to get certain morals across to the audience.... dude it's not that serious. Plus the line itself isn't bad, just doesn't fit much for that scene. I figure a bad dub line is something that is either really corny, worst delivery, or just make no sense.

Goku's not Superman, or some Silver Age DC hero. Goku's a pretty simple hillbilly who loves to fight, will do anything for his friends, and beats the tar out of people who piss him off. He's not about making sure people follow any sort of moral code.

I get that already. What I'm trying to get across is that example is definitely not the worst line. If inaccuracy of translation makes a bad line then half of the dub lines are in. What should be considered a bad line is something like Goku saying "Hammer Time" (I guess for humor) during his little fight the rocks session while Frieza was using Telekinesis.
