Well, WOW... This is pretty awesome.

Also, anyone know more about this magazine? And can translate the text?

This might be better in the translation section. It is very interesting though, unless I have bad memory I can't recall that room underneath Roshi's being mentioned. After seeing more of what his house looks like inside I am curious as to where #18 and Krillin lived in there. Perhaps Roshi had an extension capsule for his house? It would be interesting to know.

I case the image did not load for you:
I guess Kame-sennin needed to train somewhere before the 22nd Budokai. Apparently he did so as his alter ego.

Hmm. According to the image, it's also where Umigame sleeps. So what magazine is this? This is very interesting.

I don't quite understand what your saying you missed, are you saying you didn't know they lived with Kame-sennin? Krillin mentioned it to Goku when he came back for the tournament. Or are you generally expressing your want for an OVA showing where they lived in there? Lol.

That spread is from a section in the "
Dragon Ball: Adventure Special" guide book, which was essentially the first guide released for the series. If you search for it, I'm sure we've talked about before on the forums... somewhere. If not, I can look at the magazine tonight when I get home.

What he's getting at is that you said "#17", not #18. Although, I am intrigued about what it'd be like seeing Kuririn and #17 living together.

Thanks for pointing that out, I've not been having much sleep lately, I don't know how I missed that mistake, lol. Also, I'm sure #17 pops around every now and again to visit his sister, it would be quite entertaining seeing his disdainfulness towards Krillin. XD

I always liked the idea of 17 being a free spirited loner and travelling the world after the Cell games. I can't see him fitting in with the Z fighters but he could of had some interesting adventures on his own.

Ah, that's what I would have guessed. There just never seems to be a shortage of weird new trivia we learn from the Adventure Special. Thanks for that. Just wanted to know who it was who came up with this room, if it was Toriyama, or if this was some Super Otaku Magazine fanwankery.

That's pretty neat! Never knew he had an underground room! Never even seen this image before.

It's not directly stated that Toriyama came up with this layout of Kame House, but since it was drawn by his assistant Matsuyama Takashi, I'm pretty confident in thinking Toriyama came up with it and just had him draw it (because Toriyama got lazy, or was really busy). In fact most of the original artwork throughout the magazine was drawn by Takashi, although some of it was drawn by Masanori Nishimura and Keiko Kuwabata. The cover was however drawn by Toriyama.

I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in the manga that Roshi secretly trained for the 22nd budokai.

I love finding new tidbits like this
On another note. I don't know why, but Kame house seems smaller to me now...

How did the basement get in and out of the House Capsule?

Well, all houses have foundations that root it in the ground and keep it from just blowing away like a tent. I suppose it's possible that Capsule houses could just be weighted or "technologied" in such a way to not need a foundation... Eh, at any rate, I would think the question wouldn't be that but how does the sand seamlessly fill in like the house was never there? Or another would be, "How does the house and compartmentalizing functions deal with the seeming permanence of its structure, like the plumbing system that leads to a manhole that we see later on?"

Yeah, we know that. Just that it was never mentioned he had an underground training room.

It was always pretty small (being a hermit's house and all). To me, if anything, it looks bigger now that I can see inside it and below.

Wait. Kame house is a capsule house?
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on
my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

He places it in a capsule and brings it to a bigger island to train Gokuu and Kuririn for the 21st Budoukai.
