Released in Japan the 20th July 2006 for Nintendo GameCube and Sony PlayStation 2, it featured characters from Dragon Ball, One Piece and Naruto, with their original Japanese voices.

But how come a game this awesome never got released in Europe and US? It had everything to be a success and yet it was kept as a JPN exclusive, it just doesn't make sense to keep this away from the rest of the world.

To be frank with you guys, when I first played this game it was on a chipped PS2 Slim and the game was burned to a DVD-R so it's basically how I got to discover this game and now I'm considering to purchase it as it has DB and OP, plus N characters to play with. Is it worth it?

I don't have any OP or N games so this 3-in-1 would cover up. :P
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

It was released at a time when three separate companies handled the three separate franchises in North America (FUNimation, 4Kids, Viz). Would have been somewhat of a licensing nightmare. Not a surprise it never left Japan in the least.

It doesn't help that publishing duties between the properties were split between Bandai and Atari in the west either.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

The game came out like five years ago. I don't count on a re-release neither anytime soon even with Funimation and Viz being good friends with each other from what I've seen.

It costs about as much as Dragon Ball Z Kai Part Eight on Blu-ray and probably's more worthy than DBZKP8BD considering it has more fun content to see/play with.

That's basically what EX said.

Still, this game is not that good. I played with all the characters and DBZ characters just wrecked them all. Just luffy is a exception due to his hugeass range attacks.

Interestingly, DBZ has the biggest number of hidden characters. That's kinda obvious why, but oh well.

I played the game at Otakon in 2008 and it was fun. I do think having Bleach instead of DBZ would be better since Bleach, One Piece and Naruto are viewed as the Holy Shounen Trinity.

Why DBZ is an ancient god. It shouldn't be compared to mortals like these.

Ok, end of the joke. But yeah, you right. DBZ is "WAY" aheaded of them, making it look unfair to the others.

Seriously, DBZ ended before the game, and One piece and Naruto wasn't even halfway through the plot.

Namco Bandai does not have the license to make games based off of Bleach. Sony, and SEGA do.

Why not have all four? :P
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Because DBZ is perfect compared to them, they can't be togheter with mortals.

Just kidding, but DBZ is way ahead of them. They are not even close to end while DBZ is just ended like years ago. that "plot time difference" seems pretty weird. It's better when the three still "growing togheter".

Naruto is ending actually, but yeah.

I find it to be a nice alternative to Super Smash Bros. I know it's not everyone's idea of fun but I enjoy it.

It's really fun game, if you are fan of all the three franchises. I imported it and enjoyed lot of time with the game, but well, nothing is perfect!
There is like half of more characters to unlock and I never managed to unlock any, as after you beat the game, you have these retarded fruit slots which unlocked me everytime something I didn't know what that is or where to find it or use it, like in casino and the main villain was always Cell regardless of the game difficulty, so how sweet the start was, the bitter the last moments of playing it.
But it's really a fun crossover to play! Everyone is still boasting about Street Fighter, Batman, Tekken, Mortal Kombat and plethora other things VS Dragon Ball, this is the closest you will get, altough not a pure fighter but it's simmilar to Nintendo's Smash Bros.
FighterZ, Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat: Funky_Strudel
PS5: Dynamixx88
Trust me, I'm millenial and a designer.

It was came out before Bleach was hugely popular.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.
