DBZ Budokai HD Collection: Official On-Going Thread
Re: DBZ Budokai HD Collection: Official On-Going Thread
Darn is watching Budokai gameplay vids boring, seriously.
I'll miss Budokai 2 in this collection, 'twas my first ever home console DB game and my most treasured to date. Lovedddd the board style story mode and the great(!) music, I think I'll miss that the most (even though we'd probably not be able to get it anyway). I've never had the chance to play the first Budokai however, so that'll be something for me. I'll finally be able to witness first-hand what was so special about B1's story mode; I think I can look forward to that.
Online would have helped a lot for competition, but I'm not sure for how long I'll be able to play the game outside story mode and that. Budokai is extremely sluggish and slow imo, I remember when I rebought B3 about a year ago after yeaaars, and I just couldn't play it.
Anyhow, if I'm can be glad for anything, it's that finally, after years and years, I will be able to properly enjoy playing a DBZ game again. What I like about each of Dimps' games is that they all had something unique and distinguishable about them. B1 with its story mode, B2 with it's different aproach and what ifs, B3 with its improved gameplay and 'free-roam' story mode. Each Tenkaichi however just has slightly improved/altered (because it's not always 'improved') mechanics, and more characters.
I think someone else here said it too, but I find it funny aswel that games made a decade ago are doing better than what's made ten years later. Damn Namco Bandai needs to fix up.

00:22:01 - Dragon Ball Z: Budokai HD Collection - NAMCO BANDAI GAMES Fan Conference - Japan Expo (Day Two)

They didn't show much of it that wasn't already out, basically the trailer and the guy explained a bit about the game and for which consoles it was coming out for (Xbox 360 & PS3).

@0:39 it sounds like Budokai Tenkaichi (2 or 3?), can somebody identify what that track is? I think its from Tenkaichi 3, which would just be awful if they chose that. I mean, I actually muted my games audio because of how much I hate that soundtrack!samuraix123 wrote:Not sure if this one has been posted or not but here's the first budokai game.

^ It kinda sounded like Lost Courage, to me, from Budokai Tenkaichi 2.
So the games are gonna get screwed with BT3's replacement? Oh great.. I thought we were getting new soundtracks for B1 and B3.

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Doesn't the PS3 version of Raging Blast 2 and Ultimate Blast permit to play custom soundtracks?
Whether it does or not it's up to Namco Bandai and Dimps if they want the gamers to play with the music they want or not.

How do you guys here the audio from the game? I can barely hear Gohan's scream let alone the music.
CRAP! I just remembered I have to do that again. Oh well, I haven't done it in awhile so it might not be so bad.VegettoEX wrote:Yeah, Infinite World was way more of an "I just want to play the actual fighting game that's a part of this game, and it made most of the improvements it needed from the last one!" rather than Budokai 3 and its "There's a pretty OK fighting game in here but there's also a ton of story stuff that's fun to do except when you have to play through it a gazillion times to unlock everything and holy crap this will be my third time doing so for this one game no thank you!"

Well I put my laptop up to my ear, and I can faintly hear it. It took me a while to pinpoint it, especially when the guys in the video would pause from talking.SparkyPantsMcGee wrote:How do you guys here the audio from the game? I can barely hear Gohan's scream let alone the music

I do believe that with online not being added, there shouldn't be any reason to lock the save to a specific profile, so you should be able to download a completed sav file, nay?

Don't "HD Collection" games usually include only two games?
Also, have there been ANY of these HD Collection games that added online multiplayer?

Is it me or are the charcters not going into the air like they are suposed to? There's a part when Goku kicks Gohan and instead of sending him flying he sends him foward, I'm pretty sure that in the original it wasn't like that.samuraix123 wrote:Not sure if this one has been posted or not but here's the first budokai game.

Re: DBZ Budokai HD Collection: Official On-Going Thread
It depends from game collection to game collection. There's nothing set in stone.Son Geeko wrote:Don't "HD Collection" games usually include only two games?
Again, depends on the game. Most of the HD collections have been things like action games (Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, etc.), where it's just not relevant. Then there are things like Capcom's re-releases of Marvel vs Capcom 2, which did a bunch of HD-ish stuff like extending the background stages to 16:9 but kept all of the original sprites, but also added in online play where it never existed before.Son Geeko wrote:Also, have there been ANY of these HD Collection games that added online multiplayer?

Re: DBZ Budokai HD Collection: Official On-Going Thread
The Average is Three. Most of the time if there are only two games it's because there were only two games in the series at the time(see God of War or Shadow of the Colossus/Ico). Also most of the games that do this didn't have online in the first place; however I know Insomniac is adding online play to Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal in the The Ratchet and Clank HD collection.Son Geeko wrote:Don't "HD Collection" games usually include only two games?

And about unlocking, darn. I wish hey would import that Ps2 Budokai 2 cheat code to unlock everything if you do it enough times. I don't care about achievements anyway.
Oh and are they going to redub the games? I see some people want the original english audio on youtube.

They said remaster the graphics in HD not anything else (except the music but it was replaced because Yamamoto originally composed).
The rest I suppose will stay as it was on the original games, so probably no English redubs.

Yeah but Bandai Namco are going to waste time and money on re-releasing a game that most people didn't like.Taku128 wrote: Maybe because they actually enjoyed the game? (?!?!?!?!) Just a thought.
From what I've been told that IW really added anything new other then a few new characters and that they made the game is so hard. I remember reading that they took them like six months to create the game which could explain why the story mode is so lack luster and why the game was so cheap when it was first released. They most likely used Paikuhan's and Janemba's character models from Shin Budokai since it uses the same game engine as Budokai 3. They most likely used the unused characters for Super 17 and Bebi Vegeta for the game since it seems like they where plan for Budokai 3 going by the voice files in the dragon universe mode.dbboxkaifan wrote:
Why exactly did people detest IW?
IW did have some fun mini-games like running on the Snake Road, collecting stars (or Dragon Balls), catching Bubbles..
