Can Muten Roshi die of old age?
We already know that he can be killed, but can he die of old age? Didn't he drink some kind of immortality potion or something? He was already a 100 or older when he met Goku.... So can he live forever...?

Re: Can Muten Roshi die of old age?
He was supposed to have drunken the Fountain of Youth, but later confirmed that it wasn't true. He and his sister Uranai Baba were still alive in DBO, which is set 216 years after the manga. I think Baba was over 220 years old when we first saw her, and she was a witch, so it seems their parents were supernatural beings too.
So can he die from old age? Nah, I don't think so.

Ok thanks! And I didn't know Baba was that old.
It would have been cool to see their parents or something.

So we're not citing the DBGT Special as canon? Because if so, he does die.

Well would it be canon? I thought that every movie except Bardock and History of Trunks was not considered canon, and was considered to be a "what-if" story per-say.Rostir wrote:So we're not citing the DBGT Special as canon? Because if so, he does die.

I keep forgetting it was a movie, my memory does not serve me right here.

The GT Special is not a Movie but a TV Special. As for what is canon and what is not, there is no official canon, so it's canon whatever you you want to be canon on yur personal canon.
And we are not sure if he is dead in the GT Special. The narrator could be only talking about the Z-Senshi, or he was killed by #18 because of his perverted nature.

Re: Can Muten Roshi die of old age?
Herms wrote a post that explains what we know, but it still leaves it a little vague. In the end, there's no way of knowing for sure if Roshi can die of old age or not.

Re: Can Muten Roshi die of old age?
Well, Saichourou was over 500 at his first appearance in the series, and he eventually died due to old age, birthing too many children, and/or becoming too bloated from drinking too much water. And in the Saiyan arc, the God of Earth, who was 500 (according to Herms' Age guide), tells Mr. Popo that he has a feeling he's going to die in the upcoming year, but he doesn't know whether or not it's that Piccolo would be killed by the Saiyans or that his lifespan would happen to end around that time.
Of course, God doesn't actually know that he's a Namekian yet (therefore doesn't know anything about their lifespan) and it could be nothing more than a hunch (e.g. he feels that he's going to die in the next year, but is guessing - perhaps jumping to conclusions - that the only options would be Piccolo or his own death, and since he's not fighting the Saiyans, it must be old age), but it's certainly a possibility in his mind. Either way, he ends up living for six more years until he merges with Piccolo and lives on him through him. Dragon Ball Online wasn't confirmed to be manga canon, but Piccolo's still alive in it, although a few wrinkles are coming through.
So I don't believe that Kame-sennin's invulnerable to death from old age. He'd probably hit his limit sometime, maybe in the 400s.

Considering Saichourou knew of the Super Saiyan, I think he was over 1,000 years old.

Not seeing the logic there. Vegeta knew of the legen of the Super Saiya-jin, and he certainly wasn't 1,000 years old. I know about Julius Caesar, and I certainly wasn't around at the same time he was.

What is Muten Roshi anyway? He was already 150-200 at the beginning of the series. Is he even human? If he was already that old, and is still alive in DBO, I don't think he will ever die of old age. But then again he still might die EVENTUALLY.

He's definitely Earthling; he just disciplined his body past the level of normal human ability and into superhuman ability. Characters like Gokuu and Kuririn, who've trained under him and since surpassed him, could probably live as long as he will, if not moreso because they're so much more strong and skilled than him.DoomieDoomie911 wrote:What is Muten Roshi anyway? That could mean all of the warriors could live as long then! Saiyans would last even longer!

Re: Can Muten Roshi die of old age?
I would have accepted that if DBO didn't say that almost all of the main cast is already dead. Maybe it has something to do with his combination of being a master martial arts hermit and master pervert. =P Yin and Yang, all about finding balance. =PPiccolo Daimao wrote:He's definitely Earthling; he just disciplined his body past the level of normal human ability and into superhuman ability. That would make Baba, Tsuru and Tao closet perverts though...but I can live with that. xD
Re: Can Muten Roshi die of old age?
The simple answer would be that he's a sennin. But everyone else in his family seem to be long lived, too, so there might be more to it than that. And both Tsuru-sennin and Taopaipai also seem to have the same thing going for them.DoomieDoomie911 wrote:What is Muten Roshi anyway? He was already 150-200 at the beginning of the series.
