Well, that would be dissapointing. Well, I'm not a big fan of the new artist (whose name I seem to have always written wrong ), but that might well mean that the special will be done by her. Which, yes, is less exciting for me .... but we'll see.

We originally scanlated that on Kanzentai, but at the time no one knew who this new Naho Ooishi (オオイシナホ) lady was. Her name is written in katakana, and the character シ (shi) looks a lot like ツ (tsu). At the time we didn't even notice our mistake, but we eventually caught and corrected it. Funny enough, we originally spelled her name correctly on the front cover. Apparently this early release version is still floating around, so here's the updated one.

Hey, it just hit me. The promo images are in the mountainous area. You know how Goku and Vegeta are when they're in the mountainous area. Possible Goku vs. Vegeta rematch?

Saturday should be a good day for me with possible info on this movie and the upcoming Godzilla movie at the comic con . If we get nothing then I won't be disappointed.

I'm really hoping for some plot hints. I don't care about ssj transformations, they don't interest me. Now some info about a new bad guy, or about the storyline, that would exciting to learn about to me.

I'm so excited that the countdown finishes early Saturday morning EST; makes me want to make sure I wake up in time to see the countdown finish.

Would it be asking too much if Toei Animation / Toriyama Akira made a successor to take Goku's place in this film? Probably.

It's just that Masako Nozawa won't live forever and then hearing Goku years later with a different VA it will surely feel unnatural.

That same successor could look similar to Goku but the original would pass away eventually sometime during the film.

The character doesn't have to die with the person providing the voice. Even though Ms. Nozawa will always be the original Goku to me, I'm ok with her eventually passing the baton to someone else. I mean, look at Disney or Warner Bros; they didn't stop using their characters when the voice actors passed away.

I imagine they'd wait until they did a Dragon Ball retelling before recasting. The thirtieth anniversary of the comic's publishing is coming up so I've been trying to prepare for that sort of thing.

That'd be cool if she picked a nobody and trained them herself, but even among the younger rookie likes Han Megumi and Ise Mariya, I think we're looking at a bright future, assuming Toei wants a cheaper actor for the role.

She's not dead yet, so it's better to do the rearing up for the next Gokuu behind-the-scenes and when the time comes, then they can take over. Either way, it's going to be unnatural to a lot of fans, due to that emotional attachment.

I hope this Dragon Ball Z film will be splendid so before the original cast is replaced (sadly) the fans will get to hear the original cast once more on a newer film, until they retire or pass away (they might continue to voice on the games or so).

She being 75 years old has gotten me worried how much more years on DB voicing, maybe 5 or 7 more but if it means she'll live longer then it's the best choice she'd make.

People eventually die. No Dragon Balls in real life.

Not that Goku being recast would surprise me, but I'm pretty confident that he'll still be voiced by Nozawa in this movie.

Though it could be the last time...
