That reminds me of some fan-art where Videl was bunched up with Bulma and Chichi, as she seems jealous of their much bigger chest sizes.
Honestly though, she always wears a big T-shirt, so it's kind of hard to tell how big her breasts are :/ Besides she's 17 so they- alrighty so how about that Goku guy, huh!?

I just thought it was very throwback/classic-Goku of him. X3

Speaking meta about Goku and his role, I feel like Gohan's existence makes Goku's existence vulnerable because now the series' hero has an understudy. It's like if you have two oranges and you drop one, even if you dropped the juicier one, you still have an orange left. Once Z hits, we have Goku dying twice, falling near-fatally ill, stuck behind on a spaceship, hooked up to a healing chamber, and being pulled off of Earth and to Otherworld prematurely and thus having to step away from possibly defeating Buu right there. Goku was never out of commission with such frequency before Z. In other words, I think that Toriyama can afford to have Goku mess up more or have bad things happen to him once Toriyama had other characters in play that could possibly step into the role of "main character".

Even with the baggy shirt, if they were of any "significant" size, you'd be able to tell. Honestly, she always looks to have less of a rack than Chi Chi, even as a kid. With Goku already saying she was fairly flat as an adult in the Buu Arc, that seems to put Videl in a small window...which makes it no wonder Goku had to second guess himself in combination with her haircut.

Probably for the best that most of 'em don't suffer from absurdly-gigantic-anime-boob-syndrome though. I doubt they'd want to suffer the humiliation of knocking themselves out during procreation with a Saiyan. :?

Haha, it was kind of my way of saying "Hey, let's not talk about the breasts of a still kind of underage girl and talk about Goku and his character development" :p And I know 17 is overage in some countries, and she's only a cartoon character, but it's still pretty off topic :p

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

Well that could also just attribute to Gokuu not picking up on female anatomy too well, looking straight at her Videl's tomboy hair cut rather than her breasts. I mean this is the man with practically a non existent libido. Not to mention, stuff like size and height in Dragon Ball is very inconsistent, things like height, muscle mass and even breast size vary depending on the scene and emphasis. So to tie this in with the topic, Gokuu hasn't gotten any more brighter in this department over the years, sure he isn't patting women parts but he also adept enough to notice key female features (other than hair) to properly make a conclusion of one's gender.

So to answer the question, not really. One of my biggest gripes with the character is his lack of change, and subsequently, his lack of any diverse motivation. Sure he matured a bit, but he still displays rather selfish and illogical actions his kid self would do, as an adult. For example, not killing Boo so Vegeta can have a turn or neglecting friends and family for his own personal goals. Both prove Gokuu never really changed out from that naive kid that we saw in chapter 1.

He found stunning new ways to be both a terrible husband and father.

I like to think that's his maturation.
Kentai wrote:Son Gokuu is a fascinating character anyway, because he is - at face value, anyway - an idiot savant. The victim of violent head trauma as an infant [...] he's a simple bumpkin with a fair share of brain damage who's natural talents to work out what's wrong compensate for his broad lack of common sense. But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

Goku will always be one of my favorite anime/manga characters even though he didn't look after his family properly.

I always inferred that Goku never changing was a very intentional thing. He's a larger than life character that can't really exist in the real world; his innocence and purity of heart was something lesser(literally and figuratively) beings, such as the rest of characters, were to aspire to. Goku changes the people around him for the better. He ends up converting most of his enemies to his side without even really trying.

Slightly off-topic, but since when did Chichi have small breasts?

If we want to get technical, the Manga shows Goku's Death in a better way. As soon Goku finishes apologizing to Kaio Cell goes boom killing them both and Bubbles. Goku told his son that he's proud of him and to tell Chi Chi he was sorry just in case probably in the span of two seconds with one second to spare to get to Other World. The Anime, however... yeah, I think you know.

When Vegeta yelled at Gokuu for offering up Blooma to be felt up by the old Kaioushin and told him to let him feel his own wife, Gokuu timidly replied that she was flat-chested.

Either Goku was lying to save his ass from Chichi, or he didn't look at Chichi that closely. But then again, he did think that Videl was a boy...

Also, Chichi is about as flatchested as Bulma is loyal to one person.

I thought that part about Chi-Chi being flat was Funi dub only (or Viz translation only, I forget which) and the original text was that Goku said she wasn't that hot and that she'd kill him if he picked her. I could be wrong though.

Why would you think that? Unless your entire experience with DB has been hentai, Chi-Chi doesn't seem to have much of a bust at all, and of course, there can be limitations with artwork on paper, especially in Toriyama's art style. And no, he didn't think that Videl was a boy, he said to Gohan, "Your friend's a girl? That is a girl, right?" He was just confirming. If he knew that a girlish-looking boy like Upa was male, I doubt he was completely mind-boggled when he saw Videl just because she had short hair.

Hey, I'm going by the manga when it comes to that, but I respect your opinion. All in all, Goku has changed as a character, mostly for the best.

All right, fair enough. Although I think Gokuu got worse. At least, when he was a kid, he actually went for the kill. Like when Black was trying to run away, Gokuu took the initiative to actually fly after him and bust through his mecha, destroying him. The adult Gokuu would've preferred to let him escape and possibly kill a bunch of innocent civilians just so he could fight him again.

To be fair, I don't he'd fight Black again since he was weaker than a kitten and would be still so though you're not too far off, that comparison isn't very fair.

he appeared to learn the value of life
I don't know why this keeps coming up. Specially the thing about Kami teaching him that. Is there a source for this? The Spanish dub never mentioned it so I'm really confused. I always assumed Goku thought that it was -boring- and -unfair- to kill stuff that couldn't defend itself. Back then his skills were on par of conventional weapons, so you having a gun meant you were "fair game". It just happened that many people had guns at the time.

As he got stronger, finding challenges became very difficult. Hence he saved Piccoro and Vegeta. You could argue he had more reason with Piccoro, specially since they might need the DB and he was friend's with Kami. And he WAS going to leave Frieza to die up until he started begging.

This brings a very interesting note. A couple of months a ago, I started re-watching all DB. There's a moment were my boyfriend and I looked at each other and said "That was... very Saiyan". It was during the fight with the mummy at Baba's, when he's about to fall to the acid lake. It was surprising to the "first saiyan like fighting". It's hard to describe.
Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"
